I have a 2010 access cab trd or. Color is bsp. My truck has been great and I have driven it almost 4,000 miles so far. No complaints.when I was looking for the truck I didnt really have a color preference, just knew the options I wanted. Now that I have it, I really like the silvers. I like how they look, and the fact that the color hides scratches etc. But I also know that silvers are absolutely everywhere, whereas there are only a handful of bsp in my area. Since ive had my truck, ive put a remote starter in it, added daytime running lights, put a new bumper on it (old had dent) and any day now will be putting rock sliders on to prevent door dings. So I have done quite a bit of personalizing. I put a positive spin on the black is harder to care for thing. It just makes me take better care of the truck. Do you guys think I should stick with it, or maybe down the line do a trade? I wouldnt do a trade until this ones paid off and then just try to do an almost even trade. Thanks guys.

Me personally, I would keep the truck. I had a black Jeep Cherokee years ago, and even though I wasn't fond of the color (I live in Texas - summers were miserable!) it just wasn't worth trading to me after all the work I had put into it. Just my 2 cents. Keep what you have until it falls apart, or they put a diesel in the 3rd gen ....

keep it man i like the black better than the silver anyway. Meguiars makes a black wax too which makes them look pretty good after a wash and wax

    You're kidding right?

Trading used cars is a suckers game. You lose every time, on taxes, deferred maintenance, financing costs, and most of all the "split" between what you can sell it for vs. what you can buy a comparable model for.

You had to finance a four year old truck. Fine. Lots of folks have to do that. But now drive it until the wheels fall off. Next car/truck you get - you can look for a different color.

Advice - worth exactly what you paid for it. No refunds. No exchanges.

Enough to make you want to keep the color you have.

Thousands for a good one. A typical Maaco or Earl Scheib "mask and spray" will start peeling off in a couple years.

Black is hands down the best color when its clean and waxed.... on the same note black is hands down the biggest pain in the ass to keep clean and swirl free as well.

That being said, keep your truck.

LOL. Is Earl Scheib still around? I got a Scheib job years ago on an old Chevy. I was cleaning paint off doorknobs, windows, chrome, even tires.

When I was looking for a Tacoma I found one at a reasonable price, but it was in Barcelona Red. I just couldn't see myself driving a truck in that color. Then they dropped the price 2k...then another 2k...then another 3k. So I bought it, and while I still disliked the color I was happy I got a deal.

6 years later it is well since paid off...has had no major issues...and rides great. At 92k miles strong can I tell you now how little I care that it is Barcelona red?!?!?

I am not a fan of black at all, but like others have said, you will lose a lot if you trade just to get another color. I would say keep it for a few years untill you are ready to upgrade to a newer model, and look for you favorite color then.

I had a black 02 tundra. Looked badass when perfectly clean. When the sun hit it just right looked like spiderwebs and fingerprints all over it.. drove me nuts no matter how much I polished or compounded... I bought my tacoma silver. Couldnt be happier. All black accents. It can be dusty dirty whatever always looks someshat clean. Much easier to care for.. id trade and get silver personally but im ocd..
