Ok so I'm thinking about buying an 87 4Runner. This one is supposedly restored. Brand new paint, new engine / tranny. New windshield. The whole deal. Pricey.

I took pictures of the underside. It kinda looks like a leak on the engine or transmission. I'm not really an expert mechanic but this can't be good. Is this an engine or transmission leak? Or is this even a leak at all. Is it possible the drain plug just needs to be replaced?
Call me paranoid, but is this okay to buy? Everything else seems fine.
Help ASAP would be greatly appreciated.

Most likely an oil pump seal, they tend to leak even when replaced with new seal. There is a groove on the crank from the seal and you can fix by putting the seal on backwards I've heard and I think Marlin or someone else makes a thicker seal that doesn't rest on the groove and it fixes the leak. That leak looks minimal and wouldn't sway me from buying it. Could also be a small leak from the oil pan. Is it a 22RE?

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
it could be a transmission output seal or a t-case input seal.

Got to pull the driveline apart to fix that one...

I think I'm gonna have a mechanic look at it and get a prepurchase inspection.
    Thanks for the responses guys.
