New to the forum and pretty clueless but hoping someone can help me...

I currently have bald 275/70/17 tires on stock TRD sport rims that do not rub but look it looks like there is not much more room at all on the front it seems. I dont know what sort of lift I have.

I cant find the mud tire im looking for in that same size (Hercules Trail Diger M/T). I dont really want to go smaller with a 265/70/17 but im concerned the 285/70/17 will be to big. Does the .5 an inch of hight and width make a huge difference? Would spacers on the front help solve my issue if they are just a bit to big?

    ANY HELP IS SO APRECIATED.

(Edit: Just noticed after I posed this my first post that it said a bad example of a title was "help"... im sorry. Haha)

Just imagining this in my head, I personally think spacers on the front would make things worse because it increases the size of the arc that the outside of your tire will make when it turns. Pretend you have no lift, then my experience may be an indicator for you: with 275/55R20 tires, on rims with a +25 offset. I have a little bit of rubbing on very sharp turns. Compare the dimensions to the sizes you would like, and you might be able to guess what will fit without any rubbing.

    Spacers would help.

But you WILL get some rubbing with 285's There is no getting around that unless you chop your plastic inner fenders up.
