Ok, tryin' to or not John, you have completely confused the shit outta me. :frusty:

First you're moving to Texas (well, we're). Then you're stayin' in Pa. Now you're building a big ol' shop [as we speak], but you're moving. AFTER INSTALLING FENCING!:lalala:

Awww, sorry to hear that. I'll say a prayer.

That's a sweet building. I am so jealous! My small ass wood shed is old as hell and the critters have taken over. Was this a kit?

I have to process some photos but yesterday the wife and I set 15 of the 30 posts we dug the holes for. This is taking forever but I am glad I am taking my time and not rushing through it. I should be stretching the fence and installing the gates by this weekend. I'm almost a month behind schedule. The drilling was the worst! I dug a rock out of one hole that barely fit out of it. Out of the 30 holes, only one was free of any rock to about 24". The rest varied. Some I would hit a rock just inserting the tip of the bit, that forked shaped thing......I had a digging bar but bought a 18lb Pinch Bar. It has a chisel end. That would break rocks if I hit them enough times.

So now the fence, then we are good through the winter. Come spring, we are extending the yard with more fencing out back. A lot of clearing but not as many holes. I am using metal T posts for everything in the woods except the corners, any gates and at the tops of the hills. The side facing the common drive will get the same treatment with posts as the front yard.

Then I want to construct a free standing, open truss roof structure that spans from over the roof of the house out into the yard over the deck and brick patio.

    Very similar to this

    upload_2021-10-12_15-26-16.jpg

then the boards from the top down over the roof of the house will be longer, and continually get shorter.

(the dashed is existing and solid is proposed)

    upload_2021-10-12_15-36-49.jpg

this way we can take them out at night if they gotta go without needing to suit up for bad weather. For now we are using umbrellas but I think I may buy the wifey a electric broom this Xmas for the snow out there LOL.

Nice! Great job! When I replace mine I want metal. Metal and concrete is the way to go in the country. You can use a flame thrower to kill wasps, or a pressure washer to clean up messes.
