Kind of sucks for a first thread but I need information that will help me get the correct keyless application for a 2002 Tacoma with factory power locks.

I have searched and read threads on various forums for hours, and have yet to find clear information for Toyota or aftermarket that is practical or available for purchase:

    So far I can find:
VIP rs3000 applications for 2001 Tacomas
VIP rs3200 applications for 2003-2005 Tacomas
    VIP rs3200 applications for 2002 4Runners

It's almost like Toyota didn't make a unit dedicated for the 2002 Tacoma application

I just can't imagine Toyota making so many wiring kits or brains for individual models. There has to be a cross-application.

If possible could you provide what worked and including the model, model number and application, and the home-run, who still sells the units.

    Thanks...........

You can still buy the RS3200 Module. The Install kit has been discontinued for several years and is impossible to find. If you are just looking to add keyless entry, Viper makes a Keyless only system. You can usually find it on eBay for less than $50.00

Thanks. I did find a RS3000 complete install kit but don't know if the wiring harness also work on the 02'. I have alos found wiring kits for 01' Tundra and Tacoma.

How does the Viper rate installation difficulty?

    Thanks again..

The then-current TVIP unit for the 2002 model year was the RS3200 (V3).

Not sure but, after more research, it seems the issue is finding a suitable installation kit with wiring harness.

    Thanks

From what I've been able to find out...the wiring harness is no longer sold...best bet at this point is to find someone parting out a truck or find one in a scrap yard
