I signed up for the email updates, so it was really great Jay to hear that she is responding. I had to laugh when I read that the doc asked her to stick out her tongue and she did! That was funny, because it shows that her mind is working. I send prayers again in the direction of all of you, and to the other families. Do you know how they are doing?

Thank you so much, all of you.

We do not know about the other girl that was in critical. They do not seem to update their page. We know she is still alive and believe she had some sort of back surgery but that is all.

It is so great that she is responding to commands. Even though she is still heavily sedated. They do not want her trying to grab the tube in her trachea or chest tubes.

Biggest concerns are this infection and blood clots. I know how bad a clot can become so I am really freaked out about those. She is on thinners, but they have to be careful not to just dislodge it, but rather slowly dissovle them. And too many thinners may make her start bleeding in other areas as well. There is an infection sac or something in her lung, they are treating heavily with antibiotics. If it wont go away they may need to go in with surgery and try to remove it.

So those seem to be the 2 biggest factors right now. Thank you so much for the donations, thoughts and prayers. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts through these other hurdles.

You guy are simply amazing. I cant begin to express how thankful we all are.

They are going in today to drain the one lung. They have to go in through her side to get to it and through the lung. Their biggest concern is if the puncture from the tube into the lung does not heal/seal within three days.

They will have to go in and surgically remove part of or her whole lung if it wont heal. :( I know you can live with just one lung a fairly normal life, but we are praying that it does not have to come to that. But that is the worst case scenario.

Please keep her in your thoughts. Thank you.

Sorry to hear that they are having concerns with her lungs. I had a good friend of mine get severe pneumonia and his surgery removed about 15% of each lung. He fully healed, and we even have gone scubadiving since. He has said that he hasn't had trouble at all with the loss. So let us pray that it is a simple, and easy surgery! Best wishes your way!

Prayers sent, I believe she's going to be fine. I'm sorry this has happened to her and you all in the family. This can be a can be a time of strength for you all to pull together like never before as a family, understand that. Pray have faith, and visualize her recovered even better than before. If there's trying times, don't give up get stronger. Give praise and thanks that she's still here.

    Thank you ^^

I just want to clarify the last update from the fund me page. That is incorrect info. She did not have the surgery. They went in and found it was not as bad as they thought (by inflating her lung and looking at scans now) BEFORE puncturing her lung. So the plan is to wait a little while now, let her heal up a little more and THEN go in and most likely remove a portion of her lower lobe that has the sac in it. They did NOT do that yet.
