Please say a Prayer for “Parker”

Have you guys looked into St. Jude's or Shriners hospitals? They DO NOT charge anything for their medical services and are pediatric based hospitals. It'd be worth a look to see if/how they might help.

 

So far they have done well at KC Children’s Mercy and are hopefully almost out of there. Yes those are wonderful Hospitals and our family has contributed to them. Great people and a Great cause!

 

That’s awesome, I’ll pray for them too!

 

A little late on this it’s been a weird day of being behind the 8 ball. Parker’s MRI to look at various cranial issues was today. Including the Cyst, Ventricles and Etc.

They did the MRI at 6pm but no results yet.

 

Praying for Parker and your whole family, praying.

**Parker Update

If you have been following our journey, then you know this picture is a big deal! Parker was cleared to bottle feed yesterday! We are SO excited and thankful. Praise the Lord!

Parker is still using her feeding tube for the majority of her feedings, but she gets to bottle feed twice during the day and twice during the night shift. This picture was of her very first feeding yesterday afternoon. She did amazing... she drank half an ounce before she was wore out!

Parker had an MRI of her brain this evening. Doctors noticed some things on her ultrasound yesterday that they wanted to get a better look at. They told us not to worry yet. We will hear the results tomorrow.

Please keep the prayers coming for our sweet P! We can see God working through Parker everyday.

Please pray Parker continues to improve her bottle feeding. Pray for Parker’s brain growth and no new abnormal findings!

 

Update and Good news!
*Cyst couldn’t be found by MRI
*brain stem is good
*ventricles big but not growing any bigger
*brain smaller because of ventricles but will continue to grow until her 20’s.
*still doing well with bottle and formula

Update concerns...
Grandson 2 year check up
*Doctors still wants to MRI his head and probably should.
*He’s got an enlarged testicle
*He’s gonna be put under and they’ll do both at the same time. What exactly the Doctors will do I don’t know.

As expected Daughter is pretty scared. I think it’s best to take care of this now and all will be well with both of them. Thanks God above you are awesome!

EDIT: son had an un-descended testicle as a child and was fixed as an out-patient procedure.

 

So did mine. Same thing here only he is 24. Continuing to pray for Parker and your family.

 

Hello, as I mentioned before Parker is officially the best Severe Hydrocephalus baby they’ve ever seen. We thank you for your Prayers! However she moves two steps forward and one back... which is still good. Current obstacle is she has been taking formula but gets tired during the process of feeding. She unfortunately didn’t take after her Grand Pa when it comes to eating because I’m proficient at it. Parker however isn’t that proficient at it and nurse is forced to finish feeding via nose tube. Next Friday she would’ve been full term. She is ahead of schedule and very fortunate to be doing this good. However if her eating skills do not improve SOON... they’ll have to put a feeding tube into her stomach. I asked wife how long Parker would need one and it could be in there for up to two years according to doctor. Nobody thinks it’ll be that long but we are all praying that Parker will be more motivated to eat and won’t need feeding tube. She averages about half of the formula she should be taking on her own, which is close. Praying and asking for continued Prayer to push her to make the milestones required to leave Hospital without having feeding tube. My Daughter is a great mom but is overwhelmed by all of this and it is effecting her. Wife tonight said that my daughter is blaming herself for Parker’s condition. Which may be what happens but my daughter has done nothing that would jeopardize her child’s safety. She doesn’t smoke or drink and eats better than most. Anyway my daughter, son-in-law and my wife are in KC and could use the extra Prayers! My Grandson next week will be getting MRI on his head done and Hernia fixed too. Really need positive results there also. Thanks!

Prayers sent , were all praying and pulling for her and your family .

 

Lord, your word tells us that:
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
Help this family as they wait. Help them hold on to every promise as they hope for every miracle. Let them abide in the knowledge that you never leave or forsake them. That you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Help Parker and her Mom. You know their need. You know their every thought. Speak truth to the very core of their being and remind them that they are loved. We pray for the upcoming surgery, that it would go well, that you would guide the hands of the surgeon. Finally we speak peace over this family so that they can wait on you.

 

The Lords word is very good and thanks one and all for the Prayers!

 

Maybe Parker is not fond of that particular formula. Hopefully they might try a different formula before doing any more surgery. When my kids didn't like the hospital brand of formula it was suggested to change brands - guess what? It worked.
