Please tell me how much my trucks worth

I currently don't have any pictures of the truck now ,will post them later. But really looking on a rough idea of the value. The truck is a all stock 2010 4cly tacoma sr5 with 104675 kl on it. No modification except a box cover and no damaged in the interior or exterior. Well maintained since the beginning. Any input is helpfull

 

Are you looking to sell? Or is this for insurance?

Check craigslist for a similar year, model and miles. Whatever they are going for is the market value of your truck.

Kbb will rate the truck below market value. That might be the official value, but it is independent and inconsistent of replacement costs or resale value.

Also checking craigslist isn't really a great way of determining value. People can ask for whatever they want, it doesn't mean they're actually selling for that much. OP asked a very vague question, KBB and NADA will give him a good starting point in establishing the value of his stock truck. If you're selling a used car they're always used as a bargaining point and most smart people won't pay over book value.

 

The problem is Toyota trucks literally have the highest resale value out of any vehicle sold in the U.S. They are an outlier. Those guides will always underestimate the value vs market value by a significant margin for these trucks.

Case and point, my 1994 ex cab 4x4 22re manual mint condition two owner pickup w/ 105k miles was listed at a value of $3800 by kbb. Complete joke. I sold it for full price of $6900 to the first person that saw it.

I've sold all 3 of my toyota trucks, for drastically over kbb. Not that kbb is a bad tool, it just isn't a good tool for these trucks. While their may be outliers on CL it will provide a general idea of what the market is willing to pay.

Insurance will often cite their own independent form of nada/kbb. You should cite replacement costs. I've done this successfully against insurance companies in the past.

They will first present you with a number. Once you have that use autotrader/craigslist whatever to show what it would cost to replace your vehicle with something equivalent in options/condition/miles, if that number will not buy an equivalent truck. Use several examples to show the listing you chose is not an outlier.

Using this tactic I have always been able to get the insurance companies to increase their initial offer.

 

About 80% of whatever it was new.

 

Don't settle for initial offer. When my 83 F150 was totalled they started at $7200. I settled for a grand higher.
