    Begin build:
I'm really only making this thread to keep track of the stuff I've done to the truck, mostly for maintenance purposes. I don't take that many pictures of the truck on trips, as I'm usually solo, for better or worse. Will try to document mods that aren't straight forward though.

    First trip in the truck.

    Purpose:
It seems to me, that any proper build should have a goal. An objective. Something dictating things. I care more about adventure than just about anything else. I love backpacking. I love exploring. And climbing. And other things reserved for a personal ad. The truck is just one tool to facilitate adventure. It enables me to see more, further away from home, than walking does, over a shorter period of time. As a result, the reason why I bought this truck, and continue to modify as needed, is to facilitate going on trips. And exploring new areas. As I learned from the most humble man on TW, one shall not call their truck an "expo rig." And, since, "overlanding" is entirely retarded (WTF else are you going to do? Over-sea? Please, it's a fucking truck). I'll just say: the goal of this "build" is to create an adventure rig. Goal is never to do the hardest trails, and become a crawler. Or get as radical as possible with my vehicle. The goal is to find epic areas, with preferably some solitude. And radical rock formations. And good folks around the campfire. So far, things have been going according to plan. And, for the record: The adventure does not begin the moment the pavement ends. It begins the moment you leave home. Don't let internet fuckbags convince you that you need maxtrax's, or a RTT, to go on an adventure.

    Truck stuff:

    Satoshi + Hella's
    [IMG]

    Sliders
    [IMG]

    Mid Travel
    [IMG]

    33's
    [IMG]

    Sold the topper
    [IMG]

    Built a modular alu softopper...

That promptly broke first trip wheeling (bed flexes approximately a metric fuckton* offroad, which I didn't account for)

    *That's a technical term.

Which I later fixed by gussetting the crap out of it:

And started on the canvas side of things. More work to do.

    Fab'd a IFS skid plate:

    Built an alu front bumper
    [IMG]

    Add'd some resi's

    Installed a snorkel:

Started fabbing up a rear bumper....

Added some more stuff to the rear bumper...

Built some other stuff one day I'll add in here.....

And a number of other shit linked above.

    Welding stuff:

The progression of DIY / teaching myself....

I think this was the third day welding....

Getting a little better.... fourth day I believe... welding with gas and pushing the puddle works out way better for me:

Then finished my first real project... a cart, complete with space for plasma cutter (the dream) and two tanks:

Now working on learning alu with the spool gun. Second day trying:

I like that idea. Mod PM'd

Well that just about sums up my entire life

Haha it was bound to happen. I was trying to get it more organized and a little further along with the build first, but it is what it is. Hopefully the 7100 info will help someone

Tomorrow! Was going to today, but figured it'd be a better idea after installing the extended brake line (getting help from a fellow TW member tomorrow). Never got around to it when I went MT, since you know, my shocks are limiting down travel before the stock line gets too stretched .
