Here’s another project I’ve been working on with @caribe makaira. The purpose of this kit is to allow base models without signal mirrors (SR and SR5 non-premium) to add signal mirrors by simply using this harness kit (no splicing). This thread is intended to share progress and potentially gauge interest in producing more of these. If there’s enough demand I can get a quote from my factory. If there isn’t, I’ll warn that this harness wasn’t cheap to make and I won’t be making many of these by hand. It took about 6 hours of my time using expensive tools.

    Anyway, here is the kit:
    7EE5EBAB-BC66-41B5-BEA8-FD16202BF8B4.jpg

The harness in the middle plugs into the combination meter (the back of your gauge cluster). The two other harnesses labeled “D” and “P” connect directly to your factory door harness and give you a new home to plug the signal mirrors into. The long portions run through the door boot — I left them bare so that it’s super easy to run them. The end user then cuts the wires to length and uses a cheap crimp tool and a heat gun to connect everything together. It’s intended to be a permanent connection.

We’ll sit and wait to see how this one worked out for the tester.

This is the one thing that I've always wanted to add to the SR5. But it seems like it's gonna be pretty expensive to do

When a factory gets involved typically it gets cheaper. Depends on demand.

How easy would it be to add a wire to make it have the DRL function that MESO’s signals have?

Since your SR Door mirror has only 3 wires for the remote mirror movement and 2 wires for the heater and the connector has 11 spots, 2 for the turn signal, I'd say sure.
    That would raise the cost...

But where to pull it from would be... an issue. Unless we use the light stalk and a small relay to convert the ground to +.

Is there any constant 12v in the cluster area?

    What?
All he needs to do is follow this:
    MESO V5 DRL incab "connection"
    Which ever option he chooses.
I was thinking he wanted to add the V5 at same time as a the mirrors with turn signals.

I meant a plug-and-play kit for adding the DRL to the connector itself; 1F would require a t-tap as it's an ECU connector. The other option you gave requires relays (as I said).
