    Hi All,

My SR5 does not have the towing package so I've ordered a Tru Cool 4490 and plan to install it this weekend. I'm going to bypass the stock trans cooler that is inside the radiator so I never have to worry about the rare but catastrophic "pink milkshake syndrome." Does anyone know what I need to use to plug the input/output on the stock radiator and where I can find it?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Once you get the aftermarket cooler installed I would simply take one of the original lines to the radiator cooler and loop it to the other side if you are concerned about plugging them.

True cool 4490 is a beast . smart decision !!
I use to plug them with the additional fittings you get with the cooler .but you can leave the old cooler unplugged as long as you never plan to use it again .
There will be zero pressure on the old cooler . I beleive I use to use silicone and two fittings from the 4490 cooler kit

    Good ideas, thanks!

@gearcruncher: I believe it was a recommendation by you to someone else a while back in another thread that got me on to the 4490 and TruCool in general, so thanks for that. I really wanted to bypass the internal trans cooler and TruCool's LPD really seems like the way to go in terms of quality vs. price. It doesn't get horribly cold here in Central Kentucky in the winter, but we do get enough cold snaps in the single digits that I wanted the LPD feature. I plan on keeping my Taco quite literally forever and I see this $85 investment as an insurance policy for my trans.

I would get fittings and plug them off as they would drip for a while even after draining. Plus it just seems like the right thing to do.

This. It just doesn't feel right leaving a normally closed system open. I realize it will have no use anymore, but I just am paranoid and would worry water/salt/dirt, etc could get in those open holes (even as small as they are) and possible accelarate any corrosion. I will be sealing the old connections for sure.
