Plug Wires?

    Can anyone tell me how to tell tale signs of origional plug wires? 01 3.4 v6

    What do the plug wires you currently have say on them? what color are they?

    they say sumitoyo 2009 and are grey in color. if these are oe do you thimk it is a time for a change? there is 170k miles on truck it is an 01 model

    Never a bad time for a wire change. Read some stuff online that says the sumitomo wires are OEM wires so they may be the originals or the originals were replaced with OEM wires.
    Another thing. from what I have seen, the Toyotas come from the factory with two different plugs.
    One row is denso and one row is NGK.
    If you take out the plugs and you have two different manufacturers of plugs then they were obviously the factory plugs and probably the factory wires.

    changed the plugs a few weeks back all six were denso.only thing about buying used truck is you dont know when and if any maintance has been done. I guess it wouldnt hurt to change them anyway.

    It wouldnt hurt to change them. It doesn't seem to be that hard to change the wires. Plus you can get you some funky color wires (red, blue etc.) to make your engine look different.
