For a 2018 TRD OR, with the ac outlet in the back, is it possible to plug in a television and PlayStation to play video games while camping?

Or will this cause excess wear to the battery?

I am a total newb, thanks for help!

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
Don't know if you know this already but that outlet only works when the car is running so that it can provide ample power.

Camping is to unplug from that stuff not bring it with you lol. And the power on those outlets are very strong.

Wow, there is much to this question!

    1) Batteries don't last forever.
    2) The AC outlet is on the alternator, not the battery - needs engine running
    3) TV and Playstation while camping...uhm, how about nature and the stars?
    4) If you really need to do this, get a second battery, disconnect switch and inverter or a small generator.

TV? Get a high def projector and giant blow up screen, folding camp chairs, popcorn and lots of candy. Its too dang quiet out there and there’s always nothing to do.

That's not camping. It's just playing video games outside.

Glamping may be the right word.

For $1000 you can get a Honda 2000W generator runs 24hr on a gallon of gas. Take in anywhere. Good to have one in an emergency camping, at the house, traveling.

And ruin the silence for anyone who's camping around you.

If you camp right next to people you can’t really expect silence though, can you? Where we camp we may see a person once a week. And that one person is the forest service.

The sound of a generator carries a LONG way, particularly the low frequencies. You don't have to be camped right next someone with a running generator to have it ruin your experience.

The unit recommended above is unusually quiet. You can't hear it running more than 25' away.

The best hurricane back up out there, 'cause your neighbors aren't annoyed when sleeping with their windows open.

And you have your fans and fridge running.

Not that I'd recommend taking one camping for the purpose of video games.

In a campground situation? Sure. Boondocking? I have yet to meet a generator that's quiet. There's nothing worse than finding a great spot, off the beaten path, only to have some yahoo show up late at night a few hundred yards off and crank up a generator.

This is why I use my taco to get to trailheads and then get out and hike another 5 Miles before setting up camp.

It's not that bad...but it only gets 4 to 9.6 hours on a tank of gas according to the description.

That's one option, but it's difficult for me to do with 150 pounds of telescope gear. ;)

Low res projector and a white bed sheet is all you need. The Playstation will drain your battery in one evening, 2 tops!

Ah, that might make it difficult. Or you could make multiple trips! ;)

I guess I don’t really have to worry about noise. I mainly camp/scout/hunt in the mountains where sound doesn’t travel too easily. Plus, the closest “town” to me is usually over an hour away and has a population of 6 haha

2/3rds of my state is just empty nature which makes it easy to get away from people.
