I had to replace my water heater yesterday after the old one broke while I was on vacation (Perfect timing). Well the new one was a couple inches taller and because of that the flex pipe on the right is bent way more then I thought it would have to be. It's all metal, ad there doesn't appear to be any stress marks or anything. My friend who helped me put it in said I shouldn't worry about it. Any thoughts? We were going to replace the pip above the shutoff valve, but we couldn't get it to turn with the tools we had. lol.

That looks fine. As long as it's not kinked or leaking it's good to go and should last longer than the stainless steel braided rubber type (ask me how I know).

:EDIT: Also, I'm not a plumber, but I do have the crack.
