When I open the gas tank door I can see two little black rubber "tits" that keep the door from rattling when it's closed. Both of them are hard and cracked and I suspect will soon break off.

Cannot find a part number for these. If someone knows of a comparable part that will fit, maybe he could tell me where he obtained it (them)?

is there any special lubricant you may or may not use to keep the lock cylinder in the back from sticking, the little black triangle
mine is getting hard to turn back without the key, kinda sticks
i hear they can break easily?

Do you mean the "finger" that rotates when you turn the key?

I occasionally wipe it and the surface that it rubs against nice and clean. No need for any lube.

If you mean the key "catches" when you turn it, take the keylock off of the vehicle and squirt a bit of 3-in-1 oil into it. If that doesn't help, I would suspect that your key is worn.

I have 22 years on my truck and the key is starting to catch. I squirted the bit of 3-in-1 oil into it and it didn't help. I'll hafta try using a different key. If that doesn't help, then I'll just be real careful when I open the fuel door.

And pray that the lock doesn't break :D .

its black, and there is some sort of spring coil that looks like it helps the black piece back that locks it :notsure:
