I'm interested in joining for at least the section between I90 and Highway 2, maybe all the way up to the Winthrop area.

Too late to join in the planning? I'm pretty flexible in terms of dates after 7/1, and my rig is fairly equipped with good comms gear (HAM, CB, Satellite Messenger) and a fair amount of recovery equipment.

i think best plan might be to give a meeting location and time in Twisp i been thinking about taking Rt 20 out to twisp along with any late comers we might need to find a near by fuel station we can meet at along the trail route

I believe this will be running north to south. If guessing dates based on 2 days per section that means...
section 5 will be july 3-4 (okanogan to chelan)
section 4 will be july 5-6 (chelan to cashemere)
section 3 will be july 7-8 (cashmere to ellensburg)
section 2 will be july 9-10 (ellensburg to packwood)
section 1 will be july 11-12 (packwood to stevenson)

Looks like Seattle to Twisp is right around 4 hrs (~230mi).

What about meeting at Hank’s Market at 9am? Gas station right there too. Food and fuel.

Course that means leaving uber early...

Give us enough time to hit the trail
and find a place to camp for the night? Also, is it necessary to camp at designated areas, or can we use a pullout /etc. along the trail?

2 days per section gives you lots of goof off and side road time. you can do 2 sections in one day if you hammer down.

I was digging around the USFS website last night and seen that dispersed camping is allowed right now, which is awesome..nothing is allowed at any developed sites.

Also, free unsolicited advice: Highway 20 over the cascades into Twisp is a little longer but possibly the nicest drive in Washington if you have the time. Its closed in the winter and just opened the other day.

Is anyone bringing a trailer on this trip? Or is it trucks only? How extreme would these trails be? I'd rather not have to back it down a tight trail.

I was considering that. I’ve done 90 and 2 (was amazed my first time on 2). Maybe I’ll hit 20, check that off the list.

I’m having difficulty getting it paired to my phone. Do I need to be outside for that?

I’ll have them literally right next to each other and my phone ‘can’t locate’ the mini.

my Washington and Idaho BDR experience has been all normal forest roads. Should be good unless there is a washout or you crawl over a downed tree instead of cutting it. Anyone else experience anything more difficult?

I've gone twice through the two washouts in section 3 and I wouldn't want to drag a trailer through either of those. I'm sure it's doable if the trailer is not any wider than the truck, but I'm not that gutsy.

I was told by the first owner that they were based out of CA... I haven't looked into it much deeper.

Is meeting at Hanks for the start of the run? @WrecklessAbandon have you chosen which of those two days your considering going? Girlfriend and I’d anniversary is the 3rd so probably out for the first part. Trying to figure out what check points y’all may have afterward.

Few camping spots few miles north past Twisp if anyone wants to go up a day prior so you don’t need to wake up at 4am
