I'm definitely in for Chelan->Ellensburg, and I might be able to make the Okanogan start. It just depends on if I can talk the wife into going that long without amenities

So just decided to upgrade to a more reputable Roof top tent since my liquidation tent with no company found is starting to fall apart after 20 uses and 9 months of weathering. Lucky for me they had a presale on a tent and awning for a good price hopefully it arrives before the trip

How much life is left with your hunk of knot tent and how much would you want for it? My plan is to check out set ups on the trip in real life situations not just YouTube videos. Crazy, I know, but I’m bringing a ground tent and an igloo cooler with ice. But... if we can snag a Rtt for the right price I might get off the ground.

Tentatively thinking that the 11th-12th is the best two days for us. Also OP says until 13th is that just a padding day in case it takes a bit longer?

Girlfriends starting a new job and would like to come so cannot get much time off and shes starting night shift. Are you going to have a checkpoint/fuel up there in Packwood before continuing onto Section 1? Although more complicated, assuming a fuel up may be needed for each checkpoint maybe we should try to mark those out so people can join whenever? Not sure if there are plans to limit group size and such though.

I am considering going a bit longer but would have to leave the girlfriend behind and still somewhat limited myself due to currently strict team I am on. If I joined for longer would be on July 9th.

Also original post stated until July 13th, do you think we'd still be up on the trails then or not anymore based on the analysis?

Went camping and forgot coffee. At least it was packed up and still sitting on the counter when we got home.

We'd be happy to have ya come out. Yes, 13th is for padding - get home with a day to recoup. The original intent was to just take a big chunk of time off and take things slow, which I think we'll be able to achieve at two days per section.

Sounds good I think we will join on the 10th then. Anyone been out there know if service will be of any use? I have my Baofeng's but no CB radio.

Two days per section is a ton of time to go slow.

Are you suggesting 1 overnight per section? I'd be game.

My wife and i did the 1st section in 1 day. its 120 miles, pretty boring and a lot of time on pavement. there was 3 downed trees that i pulled off the trail. Started at crossing the bridge of the gods, and ended in packwood. ( Didn't read the whole post, don't know if this was already covered or if you're skipping section 1 )
I will say making the time to go explore the ice caves over there was really cool.

Our Itinerary was a little screwy but it went as follows,
Left at 10PM Friday, drove up to bridge of the gods at i don't remember o'clock, camped somewhere on the trail after about 10 miles in ( it was around 2-3 o'clock in the morning ) Was up at 7-8AM and drove the rest, we made it home back in lynnwood by 7PM the next day. We were going pretty leisurely too, took a bunch of stops with the dog and explored a bunch of side trails.

    30 days until trip.

I have a question regarding preparation.

Are we dividing any camp chores and what are the needs regular firewood?

also I think some areas need a Discovery Pass so if you don’t have one here is your notice on trying to get one
