So would maybe a heavy 18oz vinyl material work ? We use some for tarping over loads and this stuff can hold up pretty damn well . Its black though . Oh I also have some HD mesh material that might work as well

It probably can work... but I think all of it will eventually fail. The force of constant 60 mph wind on something flapping free on all sides but one is just a tall ask for any material. I'll give this acrylic endeavor a go and will reassess the quality afterwards. I may fall back on you to try out a different material.

That's awfully assumptive that you'd be keeping it for more than a few days

I'm curious to see this "rigid" acrylic build....
@Bertw192 almost feel like we should start a "go-fund-me" for this flag maintenance :spending:

Lemme just say, thanks for fronting the expense for this bull-shittery we're all so excitedly participating

TacomaWorld giveth and it takeths away... I've saved plenty of money, thanks to the generosity of TW members... but this cruel bitch has also taken her toll.

No need for a go-fund-me... happy to do it.

Just so no one thinks I’m trying to fuck around here. This is how the flag pole looked half way thru my drive to work two mornings ago.

I have good UPS shipping rates through my work and can create/email you a label to ship the flag pole where/when you need to.

Just to throw out a suggestion. Weld a pole onto a two inch ball hitch. Then you just pass the hitch to the next guy/ gal. No problems with canopy’s and easily transferred. I want this game to make its way down to me. So that flag has to survive a few hours of freeway speeds at the min.

Maybe something that could attach to the bed rails? Although then canopy bros (tm) would be out in the cold...

Good idea. You could also bolt the pole to the hole in the hitch after you remove the ball.

Or start with something like this...

Why not make the new flag be the same size and material, but glued to a sheet of magnet. That way it can be placed into the driver's door and handle any speed or terrain?

I honestly think that the sheet magnet flag would take the longest to destroy while stuck to the door of the truck.

Unless the truck gets T boned. :(

I'm making a version to see how robust I can make a fabric flag...I know a thing or two about fabric. I'll give to Bert to decide what happens with it, but I'm taking it as a personal challenge
