What if the flag, rather than flying on a pole, had magnets sewn into it? Just a thought, if you wanted to continue.

Next to no one will want a dusty flag flapping on their paint?

I'm not a pipe polisher (motorcycle reference), but I wouldn't want that.

In the end, if the recommendation to not fly them on the freeway were followed . . .

The recommendation was made when the pole and flags were thinner…

A magnet in each of the corners, would prevent flapping. Actually the flapping of it now on a pole is probably more likely to cause damage than a flag mounted flush on your tailgate, out of the wind nearly entirely. They wouldn’t be raw, but behind a soft fabric.

It's over now, but if you want to make it happen, that's always cool.

I suggest to just glue the flag to a 12" x 12" fexible magnet. Just wash your truck and slap it on any flat surface.

Won't flap, won't wash off in the rain, no poles needed. Easy peasy!

Bummer! I don't think a flag being stuck on the tailgate will work very well. I wouldn't want it on there but also it would make it next to impossible to spot it! its hard enough with how many Tacos there are out in the wild! But I agree that we cant have it falling off and endangering the public. Hopefully we can find a solution so this game can keep going. For those of us with the rail system in our beds, we might be able o fashion something together that utilizes the rail system to secure the flag.

It's probably already been discussed and isn't viable, but why not some hitch receiver contraption?

not everyone may have a hitch is the main reason I can think of.

second, I think the flag has just been more or less passed around the PDX area.

I’ve been down there and each time I’ve attempted to grab the flag, it’s been unavailable for play. One instance in Particular is when it was taken to someone’s property (cabin) somewhere.

I’ve personally lost interest and wouldn’t care to grab it if I saw it today, knowing it’s fizzled out for one reason or another.

Same. I (assisted) made them and they were all taken and redistributed amongst Portland before any of us even had a chance. And the game of "keep away" that happened down there took any fun out of it. I'm going to Astoria tomorrow, if I see the green flag on the freeway I'll give it a salute
