Flag is flying near loomis lake state park. Long Beach WA.

 

Well, I just found this thread, so I'll happily try to take it soon.

Uhhhhhhhhhh. What happened to this? Seems to have just died. New Tacoma owner here. Get this thing going again. Let’s see if we can get it to cross the state.

 

I'm making a trip up that way in a couple weeks and gonna be doing my damndest to relocate this thing to Utah Watch your back, flagholders!

 

We definitely need to get it circulating again. I think the problem is there aren’t enough PNW Tacoma World participants who are aware of this thread.

I eventually took the flag off my truck because people were flagging me down to let me know something was hooked to my truck.
I will put it back on. We need to do a happy hour meet up somewhere near PDX to give an opportunity to take it from my truck.

 

Nah!!! Head East over the Cascades. Nothing like this ever goes on over here. I mean I get it…population and all..

 

part of the issues on why it stopped.

1. The few people in the PDX area were just passing it back and forth
2. It fell off my truck and some got scared of the liability after that.
3. When it first started people were more active on giving clues on where they were or where they were going to be.

if people wanna play again then I’ll keep track of the captures

 

Would it make sense to have multiple flags and/or reduce the footprint to a state or region at least for starting out? I’m interested but have a hard time finding getting further than an hour or two away from Seattle right now. I’d imagine others have the same issue.

 

The game started with multiples. And there was plans by the original creator to have other flags in other areas…

the first flag started in Seattle and got taken by someone from Portland… then they started a second one in Seattle and that too ended up in Portland.

 

There seems to be a pattern here… Another suggestion would be to set up a TW express to relocate one of the flags to somewhere it hasn’t been, especially if activity stagnates. It is a little outside of the original intent, but could help keep it interesting.

 

I’m in if it gets going again. I think Superhulk might be right about the lack of members participating. I think Forums in general are a slowly dying breed. As a previous Jeep owner, I was pretty amazed to see how active Tacoma World is as a whole. Jeep forums are all but dead. I think most people have moved on to facebook groups which sucks because I tend to stay off of there. Maybe there’s a way a moderator could cross post information to/from both platforms?

I’m in to get this started again. Send me a flag. I’ll kick it off East of the Cascades. ‍☠️ If I have it longer than a week or two, the first person to identify my location through the picture/clues can get it through the mail. ‍♂️

 

I’m just glad I suckered SuperHulk to take it off my truck when we were at Lolo Overland! I had it for quite a while!

But yeah it did seem like interest in this had dwindled; maybe also related to the crazy state of the world the last few years. It is a little hard to participate when you aren't driving a lot, or of any significant distance. I liked the idea of this, but I work from home and don't get out as much. But maybe this would be a reason to get out more!

 

Someone please come to Glendoveer and take the flag!!!
