For whoever was wondering if a tire gate would get in the way of the canopy - yes, yes it does. The gate doesnt block, but any tire you get up there is going to be the blocker.

I'm obviously not going to be around for stuff today - I have a possibly bad battery.
I'm also out the 25th doing the family thing and work.
I know everyone is hugely disappointed

Yeah i know. I kind of descided to start my side business on the fact that theres no one doing Sliders and cab mount chops for Tacom's in this area.

i recently acquired some DIY bumper kits on craigslist.

    Relentless Alum front
    Relentless steel rear
    Relentless Sliders (tack welded)

I'm not so worried about the sliders as they are pretty easy to manage, but i'm a little concerned about having john doe do the bumpers.

i regret not ordering a swingout for rear, it gets tiring storing a full size in the bed.

you think you could make a tire carrier that could connect to the tow hitch?

Yeah I probably could. Once my shop get all repairs fixed and I'm back up and running. have to run all new power out there also. sucks!
But that sound like a good idea and easy build.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a "meet" day in a long long time. That's why a few of us are shooting for 7pm on the 25th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tanasbourne area. Feel free to join us :)
We could do the struts in the parking lot ;-) haha or make it happen another time as well!

word of advice, you would be better served with a tire gate than a hitch-mounted carrier. If you are the type to do offroading, you will be dragging the thing around on steep pits, and you'll have to remove it if you need a recovery unless you are using an aftermarket bumper with recovery points. If you intend to do any towing, you either won't be able to bring the spare with you, or if you can integrate the carrier such that it can also plug in more hitch stuff, it ends up affecting your tow rating. That said, the idea has been done before, so it's not like you are crazy, either.

Meets kind of trailed off as people moved and life got in the way for others.
Also, it's getting hard to keep track of all the goings-on since the threads keep splintering. The Oregon/Washington BS thread was the standard go-to, and only Oregonians really said anything. Then, we created a NW WA Meet/BS thread, which is highly active and is more or less the general Washington thread, and there is also the NW WA BS Thread (Whatcom, Skagit, Island counties) thread, for people who are so far north that even Seattlites don't venture that far.
Now there's this thread for Portlandites :goingcrazy:
