I dont know what happened over here in Idaho but where my bait is they were on it for the first 2 weeks of season then they just disappeared...or disappeared from my bait area! I did see some tracks not too far (3/4 to 1mile away) but nothing on my bait....season is closed for us.

Thanks! My taxidermist is using beetles on it. I shot it in the head but it didn’t do too much damage to the skull. Getting a rug made by the same guy — always wanted one. Luckily it takes forever so I can save for it.

dang! We can’t bait here. You guys don’t get to hunt all year? Thought Idaho had a ton of bears!

well tribal folks can hunt bear all year, but we have a spring and fall season 2 months each. Theres a lot of bear but hard to pin down sometimes. Plus the bears do hibernate so theres that also

Fantastic bull. Going up to whidbey this weekend to try and fill my second (first) doe tag before late archery begins. Or just shoot two deer if hell freezes over and I find some luck

Right now I'm sitting in my deer camp. I seen a bunch of bucks chasing does, fighting, and moving.

I'm glad the rut didn't just disappear in the last 2 weeks of closed season.

I only heard 2 shots today, and one of them came from the direction I had lunch in 20 min before. That was a fair bit infuriating

Man Whidbey is tough. I saw not a single deer and pretty much explored all the public there is up there. My buddy saw 2 does, first one he spooked and it just ran off. Second one started to spook and he took a shot with his 12ga. Not paying attention to the fact the sling mount on the end of his mag tube was flipped up and blocking the barrel. Missed the deer completely, but shot the sling mount off his own gun.

I spent like one minute looking for public land there and only saw state parks lol. Where is the public land?

This whole season I only saw doe's and most were while I was in the truck. The only bucks I saw were on the side of the freeway going to work one morning. Then a couple nights ago there was a buck and three doe's in my front yard.

There is Trillium Woods in the center of the island which is huntable. On the ease side by Langley is the Putney Woods, and in Greenbank there are 2 small areas of public, not easily accessible at all

Day 8 of my last day I could hunt and found this guy with a doe.
1 shot from 80-90 yards with about an 8-10 inch window in between some small oak trees. Hit him in the neck and dropped him right in his tracks. Bullet blew a hole in his spine then some how traveled down his neck and went into his front shoulder.
Ar10 308 win shooting again those barns all copper bullet. Really liking these copper bullets.
I used the ar15/10 platform this year just to prove to others that the ar15/10 can be used as a sporting hunting rifle.

I haven't seen a single animal this year. Spent Saturday looking for elk in Cle Elum, saw about 30 other dudes. Then Sunday more local looking for a deer. Probably close to 14 days in the woods so far. If anybody had any tips to help a dude get some meat before the seasons end I'd greatly appreciate it
