Thanks, I would really appreciate it. I'll PM you.
lol yeah the last bow I had was in 1985 and dry fire wasn't a problem. Today I was impatient with a new toy. Kicking myself in the balls right now.

Well it helps that while I was at my bro-n-laws house hanging out in the garage, I picked up his new bow that he has an obsession with, ironically it's an obsession bow, he instantly yells at me "don't you fucking dry fire it". It was almost like he knew exactly what I was going to do... :anonymous::rofl:

He's been with me while I have done some stupid shit over the last 20yrs.

    I haven't yet, but if I did I'd get a Kifaru pack.

@Flash_Adalwolf I have an Exo 3500 and i love it. Worth every penny. I've spiked out 5 nights in it and packed out a full deer quartered in it. Most comfortable backpacking pack i've ever owned. I also wear it just on day hunts cause you can compress the pack down almost as small as a camelback backpack.

Here’s a whole Muley packed up plus 10lbs of moose paddle. My buddy had to help me stand up and my legs were trembling stepping over dead fall, but the pack felt secure and comfortable. My personal best day in the deer woods haha

Have any of you guys done the High Buck hunt? I’ve been kicking the idea around for a few years but once I started archery it was kinda one or the other.

I’ve hunted the Pasayten Wilderness a couple times before I got into archery. I walked in, camped and hunted 3 days each time. Never saw a legal buck. After switching to archery I’ve killed a deer every year. If you haven’t gone and done a high hunt I would encourage you to go experience it, but do it with a multi season tag and back it up with a late hunt. If your looking for a big Muley buck check out the Blue Mts. I’ve seen some monsters that I couldn’t close the deal on there.

I think I’ll give it a try this year since it works out for my work schedule. Did you hunt the East or west side of Pasayten?

Ain't nothing as disappointing as seeing the animal you're after only on private land, in someone's front yard :-/

I looked and researched for a year and convinced @JDAM to meet me up in the alpine lakes wilderness a few years ago. We were able to drive to and camp about 1/4 mile from the wilderness boundary. One thing I didn't really pay attention to in my research was elevation delineations on the map. I knew we would be up around 5000', but didn't notice how much they varied in such a short distance. Alpine lakes is like this /\. Steep & Deep. If I had actually killed a buck out there you probably would have found my remains next to it. :anonymous:

Get out a trail map and look up the West Chewuch Rd to 8 Mile. 8 mile runs way up in there to a trail head. The Pasayten Wilderness boundary is about 2.5-3 miles in from there. You would be going in an area called Billy Goat Pass. Lol, so yeah the east side.

I carried chainsaws up and down those hills in my early 20s thinning trees. I couldn't imagine hauling a deer out. Savage

I hiked in off Salmon La Sac in early July a few years back with 60# of minerals for an elk bait. The trail turn to scree, I went about halfway up that shit and didn’t see any Elk sign and dumped that shit off the trail for the goats decided fuck it and never went back because if I killed an Elk in there on foot I would be FUCKED getting it out before it spoiled.

this guy showed up one night, the owner of a covered quad we camped close to. He had been backpack hunting up there for a couple days or more. Packing tent, food, rifle, and going up the down those peaks. He was totally exhausted. Nobody saw a single sign of deer the whole weekend up there.

All the years I spent out there (out by Forks) I never saw a deer. Granted we weren't looking either and made a shit ton of noise. All I ever saw was bear and 1 cougar. Did find a salmon spawning area once those. About 12-15" deep water and hundreds of salmon just hanging out. I've been back to that spot and never seen them again
