PNW Tacoma Tuning | OTT tuning Portland + Seattle

@PNWTacoma and @cemented When will you guys be back in the Seattle area? I can come down to Portland if it's going to be a while. I think the dealer erased my tune during my last service. The truck has been driving horribly for the last month or so.

 

I should be up there on the 21st or 22nd.

If you're on the fence about a tune, do it! Had mine done yesterday by Issac w/ Big Turtle Tuning and what a difference.

 

I just did mine last weekend, Honestly being a new 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road, I was really nervous about tuning it. However, when leaving work one day, I pulled out in front of another vehicle. Normally I would have had plenty of time to get out and up to speed before the other vehicle caught up to me. This was not the case! Wow, the take off was slow, dropped down to 1st gear after already shifting to 2 and 3 making it sound like I was going to blow the motor from the sudden high rpm switching to 1st gear and despite it dropping to 1st there was no get up and go to speak of! It was then I knew something had to be done, I could not live with this at all.

So, I got online and found Alexander Link in Dallas TX who kindly drove out of his area to meet me in Terrell TX to do the OTT tune for me. OMG! Even though I read all the threads on how well this changes the truck to drive like it should giving it the low end torque it was lacking and the smooth shifting and power through all the gears instead of feeling the power band kick in after 40mph as mine was doing. I am definitely keeping this truck now. All the power that was missing is now there and it's awesome!

I agree with @Jrgieve if you are on the fence about getting this tune, I can tell you that you are missing out! I love everything about this truck now. Not sure on the MPG yet, I seem to average around 17 to 18mpg before and seems the same now. I only have about 900 miles on it so maybe it needs more break in time for the mpg to improve. Anyway, GET THE TUNE!!! You absolutely will not regret it!!

 

Got my 2nd gen 6 speed done this weekend. Paired with the cam gears, the intake manifold spacer the tune made my great awesome! Paul recommended that I get a new fuel pump after reading my diagnostic reading (My trucks old, with 162k miles), but after running my own OBDII scanner, my A/F ratios are right where they need to be. I'll keep this thread updated, but I definitely recommend the tune.

 

Getting rid of rev hang is worth every penny.

If I already have an OTT from @PNWTacoma and had 31.5" tires at the time, and I upsize to 33s, there a different profile for the larger tires, correct? If so, what does it change, the shift points, anything else?

Met up with Paul this morning for the OTT tune - Worth every penny. @PNWTacoma was awesome! My review of the tune mirrors almost everyone else, it's fixed the gear hunting, feels more alive, climbing doesn't feel so strained - nothing new to read, but Paul was early, communicative, friendly and super quick.
