So far, 2 kids' booster seats and 1 infant seat all on the rear seat. Right now, running stock. Planning to take my time with the modding to see what I really need.
Finally got pics of the new-ish truck.

I landed a 2020 Voodoo Blue TRD Off-Road double cab long bed a couple of weeks ago. It had just over 8k miles on it. Not my 1st choice in color, but it was a good deal so we went for it. It's a big upgrade from a 2009 Honda Fit. :yay: But I have definitely noticed the difference in gas mileage with this new truck. Good thing gas is relatively cheap.

Previously, I had a brand new 2004 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 that had a similar configuration, except a short bed. I had Softopper on that before they were a thing.

Before that I had a 1971 FJ55 which was a true beast. It's the same type of truck that really won Alaska Off-Road Warriors shown on Amazon Prime. My son and I loved that show. I did a bunch of work to that truck which included replacing all moving parts except the drive shaft and axles. That was an interesting project with lots of great trips. Great memories. Pre-kids of course.

I'm really digging this Tacoma. We have a 2015 Sienna XLE AWD, so I'm fairly accustomed to the modern Toyotas. We live in Seattle and sneak out to the Cascades or Olympics as much as possible to camp, hike, backpack, bike/bikepack, paddle, and ski. We got this Taco for the practicality of having a bed to haul things as well as seek out adventures. I tried out the Tundra and my dad always drove a GMC/Chevy 2500 so I'm familiar with full size trucks, which was a little too much for me. I really like the size of the newer Tacomas.

So far, the mods I have invested in are:
    • an auto-clamping wireless phone charger,
    • 2 kids booster seats & an infant car seat
    • :headbang:
I love seeing all the awesome things you all have done to your trucks. Some pretty sick looking machines. I probably spend too much time drooling over Tacoma pics on IG.

I'm planning to keep my truck stock, unless I need an upgrade. I actually got a bed mat because our skis were sliding all around in the back on our way to the mountain. And I got some running boards to make it easier for the little ones to get in and out of the truck. We'll see what happens from there. I'm thinking about some kind of bed cover because the back of my truck is full of snow right now. But I'm not interested in a canopy or a Softopper again.

I love these forum boards because they are incredible resources. So thank you all for your experience and knowledge. Cheers.

    Welcome to TW, Brian!

If you're looking for a tonneau cover, I'm liking my Lomax, although the black aluminum does get hot in the summer.
