Could a worn out fan clutch cause PO125? Temperature goes up to 200 at an idle, fan spins freely even when warm.

For sure I will, I need to find a clutch and figure out if I can install it myself or have it done, so It may take a few days. Thanks for the info.

    Not too hard at all

    5 bolts for clutch
    4-5 for the fan blade
    IIRC
U will have enough room without needing to take off any other components

You'd think a worn out fan clutch would cause an overheating problem

P0125 is a cooling system that isn't getting up to temp quickly enough and staying there..

That code has nothing to do with the coolant temp contrary to it's generic description, It means the AFR sensor isn't responding properly.

Interesting... only a .5v output difference between an open and shorted AF sensor, did not know that.

Well your technically not seeing the actual output of the sensor in data, AFR sensors operate off current instead of voltage. The ECM interprets it and displays it as a voltage though.

Weird how that code is more about 02 sensor functionality than coolant temp

It was p0126 that I was thinking of, got confused.. That one is more common on lots of different vehicles and I believe it is more focused on actual coolant temp regulation

Yea P0125 and P0128 on some Toyota vehicles has nothing to do with coolant temp despite it's generic description, that's why it's always a good idea to read service info instead of relying on the generic code description.

I finally got the fan clutch and I installed it today, the 125 code appears to be gone, I still get po171 twice.
