Was having some recent trouble with a bad plug wire that threw me a PO301 Code and before that it was a PO420 code. Replaced the cat converter and the plug wires. Took about a 40 or so mile trip today and on the way home of course the CEL came on again. Just been one of those months. Got home with no problems, truck ran like normal. Hooked my scanner up and looked up the trouble code. PO171 System Too Lean (Bank 1). Not really sure what to do about this. I cleared the fault. Then took about a 6 mile trip to the gas station with no problems. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

    Clean your MAF sensor.

Seems that the CEL only comes on when I go for wide open throttle.

The sensor can't read either the air flow or temperature. It's probably dirty
