I gave up years ago... I know it's not too helpful when you're in a state with emissions...20210531_114044.jpg

This happens in 1995-2004 Land Cruisers too. There are different remedies, some work some don't. The ECU back then is fickle and sensitive to any exhaust leak and fuel change. Most seem to get rid of it by replacing the downstream O2 sensor and wire end and/or EGR gaskets. I have done both to my Land Cruiser but the light remains on for the past 4 years.

I've replaced everything people are suggesting already, light keeps coming back. Tank and gaskets all good, no leaks there either. The whole EVAP cannister was replace along with all rubber hoses and clamps related to it. There has gotta be a trick so I can get through emissions...

Did you check out that link @AmherstAndy posted? It details the process that shop used.. ultimately the lines were misrouted, and solved the issue.. So I'd for sure be checking under your rig for the same issue.

Well, another smoke test has revealed a pinhole on top of gas tank under some chafe tape. New tank? Do I need to go OEM or is a Dorman or something from the parts store fine?

I have the 18.5 gallon tank, and installed a new Spectra T031C tank last winter. It was a little under half the price of an OEM replacement. For the price difference I think the aftermarket is the way to go on that particular part.

If only I could give up, it'd be way less aggravation and money.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Aftermarket is fine. But I would paint the outside before installing it.

    Reserected from the dead.
I did swap out my vac switch. I was still getting the code.

Oddly enough, it's been 3 months since I have had a code pop up.

I'm sure it'll pop up tomorrow, now.

Doesn’t hurt to try. I also edited the part in my comment about “starting the engine” made a mistake there
