polished intake manifolds?

    From time to time I hear of someone either upgrading to a polished intake manifold or doing one. Does anyone know what the stock surface of tacoma manifolds is? Is it rough cast or polished? What if any performance gains could be expected? There is a new/ used manifold for sale and like everything it give me bad ideas.
