I find it very comfortable. I tend to place my front hand in many different positions, depending on the panel and angle of the polisher. The front end of the griot’s polisher is really comfortable imo.

Do you find yourself moving your hand around to get comfortable a lot?

I don't want any regrets buying a different polisher.

Been thinking G9 or G15 from Griots or Rupes 15 MM Mark III.

I think if I go with a long throw polisher the 15MM would be better than the 21MM throw. Just because it maybe be able to get into tighter areas better.

    Thank you, Sir! :hattip:

Thanks everyone for answering my questions!

Never used anything else but the 7424, DW849 rotary.

Is their that much of a difference?i

If you use a long throw polisher (beside the 3401) which one? I don't know if the Rupes is worth the money for the amount of time I use it.

Only used the 3401. If the Rupes performs anywhere close to the 3401 it will speed up your process compared to the PC. Even thought I don’t do this for a living, time is important to me.

I believe a member (worker) of Autogeek said if they have to work on hard clear coat, paint they will bring the 3401 with them, plus a long throw for anything isn't difficult to remove. If speed is an issue then a force rotation machine would be better choice.

I may have have to take a gamble and buy a long throw polisher, but hoping they have a good return policy. I think Griots give a satisfaction guarantee time period.

I think you will be fine with either long throw. Spending the dollars hurts but once you use it, you will be glad you did.

Griots has a 180 day return policy. Try it if you don’t like it return it no issues. They also have a lifetime warranty on everything they sell against defects.

Maxshine (Amazon) polishers are more affordable than flex, rupes, etc. If you only detail your cars they are ok. Come in 15 and 21 mm sizes.

I'm partial to the flex 3401 and 3D polishes with lake country hdo pads.

I bought the Bauer from Harbor Freight and I have had really good luck with it so far.

Someone on this forum bought one to. He like it a lot. It speed up his polishing time.

I saw a YouTube video where someone used a Rupes backing plate and made the Harbor Freight polisher more balance, A lot less vibrations.

The thing I heard the most about the 3401 is the wandering off issue.

Thank You for that tip. That is only thing I don't like. By the end of a Fullsize Pickup the vibration I can feel in my hands when I am done is pretty bad. But the Bauer does do a great job other then that.

I am going to change out the Grease first. I read a lot of the comments and some people did that and it made an improvement. I have several 6" pads already I want to see if the Grease helps before I switch the Backing Plate and have to start all over again.
