The crew im wheeling with is renting a house with a garage and are bringing welders, chop saws, steel and a ton of tools. As long as i make it there i will get home LOL!! There are 3 other untested rigs, the 80 that snowy snapped a picture of just redid its entire front suspensionx no trailer, and a 4 runner getting an fj 60 front and 80 rear thats about half swapped right now hes at least trailering. We are taking our time and sight seeing along the way, so we are splitting the drive over 3 days.

Drove it for an hour today, rides like a tank, i need to tighten my shackles to tighten up the steering a bit. My cambers off on the drivers side which is weird because the axle shafts fit in perfectly and the stub shaft was centered in the spindle. The top of the tire leans out. Im going to play with the alignment and hope that fixes it a bit. Looks like im going to have to tub the wheel wells since i flexed it out which sucks.

Lol snowy its been on its side twice already!! It sits low and wide which is what i want!

Oh i forgot the mini thats flopped is getting a chevy 63 rear soring swap and is waiting on parts still, thats trailerd as well.

That is a huge jump on capability for sure, bug learning curve! Going from a pre runner to a 4wd, crawl boxed sas'd tacoma, nice. You can run damn near any trail in the country with that combo once you get used to it!

I'll make sure to never have you as my spotter haha :D When my SAS I hope to have a bit more fun wheeling by not having to worry so much about stuff.

A pic is worth a thousand words. Interesting to see how they stuffed 40"s under that rig keeping it so low. No flopping over that one lol

Hahaha my thoughts. I took it many places it shouldn't have as 2wd. Now I just have to find the tipping point and get comfortable with it. Getting there.

Tightened up the shackles and dropped the front air pressure and the truck handles 100% better. Ill just have to remember to loosen them a few turns before hitting the trail. It eliminated a lot of the "first half turn of the wheel is shifting the body" effect. It rides much better with the tires aired down a bit as well. I thought I broke my clock spring, but my horn still works and cruise still works which kicks ass, and another bonus is my speedo is now dead nuts on, i haven't had that in 10years!

Man these past few days have been kicking my ass, its all this little shit that sucks up time, little shit like hacking the wheel wells so it can flex LOL!! Got one side tubbed, the other side is tonight, the front fenders are all chopped up, looks like shit, then again they were all dented to hell anyway. Trucks been driving good, and i have accepted the fact that it will constantly be spitting ATF out of the steering system. Cant see any real leaks but that shits dripping evreywhere, oh well. Theres a small drip by the highpressure lines and fluid all around the resivoir, yet the level hasnt budged.

My power steering box leaked like crazy once I put it on but rarely leaks any more. I think once everything starts moving again and the seals swell or do whatever they do, the leaks stop. For the time being though, I just shoved a ragood underneath it

Scary part is no LOL!! That was a combo of an already crunched fender that fits like crap to begin with, using the wrong cutoff wheel, and the door wanting to eat the fender when i opened it. Pax side looks slightly better as i used a jig saw and it wasnt as destroyed

So my dumbass should be halfway to the black hills right now however im sitting at an auto glass shop paying the stupid tax after slamming my door in anger and breaking my drivers side window. Frustration after 20hrs of wrenching in 90* heat over 2 days hit the boiling point after a hub was making noise after i assembled it wrong. Trucks packed up and rolling out after this window gets fixed. Swapped in a new (used) rear driveshaft to replace my bent one, and got my pitman arm all tightend down and now the truck drives great. The pitman arm bolt was bottoming out on the threads before the pitman arm was fully seated. I had to make a spacer which sucked as it took forever.
