You must have slammed that door extremely hard to break that window:eek: Or maybe you happen to be too :muscleflexing: LOL

Better to vent the anger on the door than the wife or somebody else for that matter :smack:

Man, I feel for you. Wrenching in hot weather with tight deadlines is the worst experience ever.

What do you mean by installing one hub wrong? I thought there was only one way to assemble those things.

There are apparently two ways to install rhe hub dial and one way will cause the hub to grind and not unlock. Yea i was pretty pissed.

Interesting. I guess I don't have experience with those specific hubs. The manual locking hubs I had in my tacoma could only go one way.

Are 37" tires that hard on pumps? You are invited, of course.

@ZUK i think the pump was on its way out pre swap and this trip about killed it. I also think i have a cooling and capacity issue because it was pukeing again even with the new pump. Thanks for the moab invite, however im out of vacation time, i had a few friends continue onto moab after this trip so they have been rubbing it in my face as well lol!!

2700 miles in 8days, 3 days of wheeling (2 got rained out) and not too many issues for it being a fresh build. Issues and what i need to fix:
Truck pulls very bad to the right and i dont know why, this started on friday night.

    Tcase mount is conpletely shot

Front frame end shackle bushings are shot, may replace those with derlin or something beefier than poly.

Tool box collapsed in on itself and i put the final nail in the coffin when i bounced it off a rock and dented the hell out of it.

Only body damage i sustained was a broken tailight from a dumbass friend of mine who left their tow rig in neutral and it rolled down a hill and rear ended my truck.

My rear drivers side rear frame rail is toast, it collapsed from rust i think this may have something to do with the truck pulling right.

I need some bumpstops, i was running without them all week. I may pony up for some airbumps, i just have nowhere to put them.

Thats what i know of so far, and not bad considering the work that went on. Truck cools great even crawling with the ac blasting with the tiny radiator. I ran some of the hardest obsticles in the area, and that i ever ran, and the truck walked just about evreything. The fj62 rear springs up front flex like mad which i was not expecting, and the front shackles work great. I have a ton of pics that i need to get off my wifes phone and ill post up later. The ssrs are actually not that bad offroad. I was really expecting them to suck due to their reputation, but they were wrapping the rocks great at 5psi. On road they are visably not round, i may be putting some golf balls in them to balance them.

Awesome photos again. For all you went through during the build, very redeeming to get to use it.
Your list of fixes is small, hell, you have all of the hard stuff finished. Now you can take your time to improve on the little things. Great job.

I have yet to get mine out... ordering the front driveshaft this morning.

Yea i got lucky for sure! We had 3 fresh builds doing shakedown runs on one of the hardest trails this side of the rockies and with little issues. The biggest one was a mini truck tearing its front frame by the steering box, but that was fixed in a few hrs back at the cabin, other than that mostly minor stuff. Hell i was cruising at 80 for the last 3hrs of the drive once i got into flat Illinois and my cases stopped wanting to launch out of truck via my floor boards!

Black hills the week of July 25th:
Hit up the black hills for a week of wheeling. I met some of my friends out there, my friend john with a 4runner on landcruiser axles and 37s, joe with a cruiser on 40s, Brian who has a cruiser on 37s, Todd who has a badass FJ55 on 36s and a 6.0 thats always broken down, and Tony who has a mini truck on 35s that goes ANYWHERE you point it.

Day 1 and 2 were spent running the hal johns trail. Its a trail in rock ravine that starts out kind of tame and gets more extreme as the day went on. We all turtled it on the first obsticle, but after that it was a drama free day.... Except for todd in the fj55 who broke on the entrance road and blew out the side of his tcase shifter housing, so he was done for the day.

Day 2 the fj55 was back...

Day 3 was an easy trail called Iceman. Its a out and back trail with a kind of difficult obstacle at the end call jasons rock. The fj55s driveshaft fell off on the entrance road and blew out the previous days tcase fix so he was done and didnt run the trail....

Day 3 and 4 we were rained out so we went site seeing. We actually got stuck on the trail on day 4 in a hail storm on the gate keeper obstacle. Overall it was a drama free week when it came to breakage especially sense we had a lot of fresh builds and we drove right into the hard stuff right off the bat. Ill upload some more pics as i retrieve them off of cameras and phones.

    awesome.
...... given the choice again, would you do the shackle in the rear or you really don't care which end?
Did the shackle up front help or hurt? Just want to hear your input.

    great pics!

Nice rigs. I really dig how clever it was to paint the sections of the exo cage on the fj55 according the blue-white-blue paint scheme. It "camouflages" the exo cage really well! Personally, I do not like how exo cages make rigs look...but that one is really cool!

Also, I said it once before, but man you got some good flex out of those leaf springs. The articulation of the front axle is really good.

They performed great, i would do it again. My only complaint is the frame end shackle bushings are totally destroyed. Im going to get some made up out of derlin, and if that doesnt work switch to slider boxes.

As for climbing and what not it was hard to compare as the only trucks running leads were the 4 runner and the mini truck and due to my length and width i was taking lines. It will be intresting tk wheel with @Snowy as hes running a typical front lead setup and is the most similar in specs to my truck, even then i think he shortened the wb almost a foot. No axle walk and it rode fine on the highway.

Im with you on exo cages, thats one of my favorite rigs. Too bad its so ubreliable.
We were all amazed at how much those 62 rear springs flexed. I was expecting to be lifting tires all over the place, having a 14" travel front shock with only 2.5" of uptravel helps the droop as well.

Well i thought my 4xinnovations trans mount was shot and causeing my vibes so i got some new bushings for it and replaced them today. While that lessend the violent shakeing down to meerly very annoying cruising at 70 in 5th, it didnt do what i wanted. I think ive got some driveshaft issues going on.

I also replaced the factory 55gal drum muffler with some cheapo walker, the truck is whisper quiet now!! I also orderd up my round derlin stock to make my new front bushings, hopefully that tightens things up and will last longer than an oil change and 4 wheeling trips unlike the polys.

The front half of the driveshaft (by the tcase) is the original that has been modified twice for the crawler, so probibly 60k since it was last shortened. It has a new ujoint as of last year on the tacse end. The rear driveshaft is a used one i got off a member here as i bent the one that came with the truck last year. I pumped fresh grease into it and checked the joints before install and everything's all good. I'm going to mess around with the phase of it sometime this week. When i park the truck this winter the shafts will be going to a drivehsaft shop to get some thicker tubes and evreything balanced along with a new center bearing.

In the mean time im going to get my new front bushings made this week and maybe installed before wheeling next week, and get this damn p0136 code to go away so i can get my emissions tested and re register the truck by the end of the month. I fixed the damn exhaust flange leak and its still throwing a code with a 2yr old denso o2 sensor. Frustrating, i hate this stupid code.
