Rear o2 sensor, i did have a big leak at the flange, i fixed that but the code keeps popping up, pain in the ass.

I flipped the yoke around 180 degrees, and the vibes went down. I was looking under the truck and saw the frame rail collapsed on itself on the drivers side right above the spring hangar. Im now thinking that the rear swampers being out of balance shakeing evreything and the messed up frame contributeing to the vibrations. Im going to fix that this weekend and see if that fixes anything.

Did some frame patching yesterday, those of you out west hug your rust free frames for me. Keep in mind this was a nevada truck up until 2005.

Pile of shit that i scooped out of the inside of the frame.

Im thinking this truck will be getting backhalfed in a season or two.

Damn that looks nasty  Your frame got the rust cancer.

I lived in the northeast for 7 years. Prior to that, everything under my truck was rust free and virtually perfect. After 7 years I got some rust in some areas, but it wasn't o the extent of yours. During the winter months I ended up going to the local DIY car wash and pressure wash the bottom of my truck at least once a week during days where it snowed and there was sludge on the roads. It got old very quickly doing that, and I hated going to the pressure washer so often when it was so cold outside (at least they had hot water for the power hoses). But they used so much of that chemical to melt the snow/ice on the roads, so I wanted to wash the frame as often as I could. I think that helped save my frame, but it did get rust in some spots anyway:rolleyes:

I don't miss living in the northeast at all man. That's why I jumped at the first opportunity to work in the southwest. Didn't think twice about relocating down here. Gets hot as hell during the summer but then you have 7-8 months of spring. It rains a few days per year during monsoon season and that's a bout it:thumbsup:

So, do you think that collapsed frame was causing the balancing issues you were having?

Im hopeing so, i have to put the gas tank back in and test drive it today. Crazy thing is my pax side frame rail looks just about perfect except for one hole in a not very important spot. The drivers side is a wreck!

Arizonas too damn hot for me! I need my cold and winter!

What about temperature in the low 70's for about 7-8 months with no clouds in the sky and a bunch of awesome trails to go wheeling and trucks with frames that never rust?:luvya:

Weird that only one side of your frame is rotten.

The wheeling would be sweet for sure! I would probibly ditch the full bodied truck and build a clone of got propanes truck, or an ftoy for those trails!

Next time you are near chicago, let me know i can show you up close!!

Truck still vibrates however the bed moves around alot less. Forgot to tighten down my center bearing bolts and drove around with it loose, now i have a loud chirp coming out of the back end that matched wheel speed. Dont think its driveshaft related since it matches wheel speed, and think its just coincidence. Fix one problem on these, another pops up. Hopeing its just a loose wheel spacer or something rubbing against the gas tank since it just started.

I need to save my pennies and learn trigonometry so i can 4 link it!

In the mean time I need to find a good cheap tool box for this thing.

We both know you aren't good enough at math to 4-link it and too cheap to do it even if you had the math skills!

I went wheeling this weekend at a localish park and it was frustrating to say the least. I was getting denied on stuff that i could do IFS, in its defense it was wet and the dirt is super sandy which i think is why the SSR's would not stick to ANYTHING, coupled with the fact that they suck in general. I also need to hack up the fail gear tcase crossmember and raise it, that diaper hangs way too low and kills my BOA. I am also kicking around the idea of raising the truck a bit. It sits too low for the length and for the terrain i wheel on and im back to the problem i had before which is i beach the truck on evreything. I also broke the synthetic winch rope winching through a rock garden, despite the claims that it falls harmlessly to the ground when it breaks, that shit whips back really good, so stay the hell away, and no i didnt have a weight on the rope because i have never seen that work with steel cable and its a stupid web-wheeler theory not based in any actual facts LOL!!

I built a truck that works great in terrain that i don't wheel on lol!!

My frame height and belly are pretty close to yours from reading back and I seem to drag the rear axle more than anything and occasionally drag the belly but it's never been a problem like it sounds for you? And your on 37s not 35s. Are you getting high centered or just dragging everywhere? I'm sure your trails are quite a bit harder than the one hard trail I've been on.

Our trails are dirt with rocks strewn about, so the rocks get dug out and your hopping boulder to boulder if that makes sense. Its not like a trail of rocks and boulders you can easily pick a line through. We also have ledges, lots and lots of ledges to climb and belly out on the top. Dragging i dont care about, its the getting bellyed out that sucks.

They are hard for a low slung long tacoma. A mini truck or a 40 can bounce right through them.

One of said spots. The truck is super super low but that combined with the wheelbase is a killer in certain spots. I was able to get through the same section without hanging up, good combination of some more height and less wheelbase for me.

The synthetic line snapping was pretty sketchy, especially when a possible consequence is rolling down the side of the hill off the rocks you were dragging yourself over

Ahh that makes sense. Most the trails around here are washes strewn with boulders or Moab like rocks. Some ledges to get hung up on but a little extra skinny pedal seems to do the trice here.

So now that my sas is done, i need something to contiue the mental build masturbation. The body on this truck is beat, the frame is shitty, rusty, bent on multiple places, and probibly only has a few good years left in it, so ive been thinking about the replacement wheeler to start looking for in a few years. I have it narrowed down to a few:

-build the 1944 willys i have had since college into a wheeler. Cons are it would be an assload of work and i would have to trailer it which i dont want to do, and no ac because im a puss.

    - a 3rd gen 4runner: swap my entire drivetrain into one. Cons would be theres alot more glass for me to fuck up. Pros would be its shorter and i can sleep in the back because fuck tent camping.

-single cab 2nd gen: the only second gen that doesnt look like a prolapsed bhole i would swap my current drivetrain into it. Cons are the cabs small (duh) however i have no kids and dont plan to ever have any. Pros are they look badass and they seem to have the least ammount of stupid ass electronics in them.

-another 1st gen tacoma: retarded expensive, long and whats the fun in building the same truck again??

    Thoughts?
