Thought I had more tube than I did, oh well this will work for the time being.

Obviously it's getting painted black. Knocking back a brew while the primer dries.

Tonight I decided to take on one of the most futile battles in the off-road world.... Trying to balance a swamper. LOL. I have also had problems with the front left beadlock breaking bolts and noticed there was uneven gaps around the rock ring.

Step one break down the beadlock.
    IMG_20170519_205644817.jpg
Step 2 weigh out the airsoft pellets, I got this kitchen scale off Amazon for 15bucks.
    IMG_20170519_204310679.jpg
I got .20grams bbs off Amazon 2 tubs of 5000.
    IMG_20170519_204318762.jpg
10oz. A tire is what I'm going to use. The online charts says 8oz, but these are chunked swampers.... Just peel the bead off the wheel and dump em on in.
    IMG_20170519_204444942.jpg

These rims had weights on the inside., 5oz worth lol. The tires also needed a spacer between the rock ring and the rim as the beads are crazy thick on these, I think that may be part of why the bounced down the road.

2hrs later the tire is inflated. The rock rings were beat to fuck so it took an assload of time to get everything tightened down. Only 3 more tires to go....

The BBs fixed 95% of my vibes. I still get a violent drivetrain shake that starts slow and gets progressively worse above 70. I have a new carrier bearing, just phased the driveline properly and everything was freshly greased. In going to try putting another mount on the driveline. Right now I only have the 4xinnovations mount at the trans and nothing at the crawler, it was fine for 8yrs with 33's, but maybe it's not so happy now with big boy tires. I also think the the cross member is partly the problem, in going to try to stiffen it up by adding steel to it.

The wheels/tires had weights on them when I got them they ranged from zero (the tire I would visably bouncing down the road) to 6oz. I put 10oz in all of them.

I measured what it was pre axle swap and set it about 1* down from pointing straight at the back of the flange at the center bearing. The fj80s pinion flange sits a bit higher in the pumpkin than the tacoma one as well.

Does that make any sense? I used the flange at the rear part of the front half of the driveshaft since the tcase flange is kind of irrelavant from a shaft angle perspective. You also need to account that the pinion will naturally rotate up under any load.

I haven't messed with the drum brakes on the fj80 parking brake, I'm an idiot when it comes to drums that's why I swapped the fj80 axle in. I do want to get the parking brake working, let me know how it goes adapting it to the stock taco cables.

I made a crude little extension link to connect one side. The other side connected as usual. I'm pretty crappy with a fab work, so I don't have a mount to support the cable on the axle. I have not adjusted the drums yet though.

Nice, my factory cable is still intact zip tied to my frame, I had to cut apart the factory 80 cable to get it off through. I have the axle end of the ebrake cable still on my fj60 housing on the side of my house that I read may work on the 80 ebrakes, we shall see!

I used 2 FJ Cruiser cables to get my PB working, works slick.
I did fab a bracket for the cables to go through, then used an FJ Cruiser bracket to terminate, then used all thread to work with the OEM Tacoma bell crank.

Hopefully these pics will give you an idea. The FJ cables mounted up in the Tacoma OEM locations. The DS cable
& housing was shortened as both cables are/ were the same length.
The bracket I made bolts to the OEM location between the fuel tank and inside frame rail.

I don't know if mine actually works or not. I have not adjusted the drums on the axle to see if they hold. I attached them like you see to keep them from dragging. And honestly, I don't wheel as much as I want, so that helps them hang in there...
