Politicians inferring with wildfire suppression

Hey Southern Cali brethren. The local radio up north here out of Lassen County had a story about last years fire down south regarding politicians calling fire departments to check on specific houses, trying to take fighters away from actually fighting the fire. Favoritism. ?

Yup. Politicians trying to use their influence to save their or a friend's house. Most of the local agencies told them to take a hike since since in a fire, everyone has the same risk, especially when the fires erupt all over the county.

 

Did a search online also, there it was, released two days ago. No names mentioned by the FD, guessing to avoid upsetting any one influential party.
