The first generation Camaros and Firebirds were beautiful cars.

I think I was 35 or 36 when I bought my first generation Tacoma. At the time, I was getting out my horror movie first marriage. I wanted a first generation for years, and this was as good of time as any to get one especially since me and my ex-nightmare were going our separate ways. I bought this first generation Tacoma in 02/2005. This first generation Tacoma has helped a million of my friends and family members get out of divorces and move as well as me.

These first generation Tacomas are really a young person's truck for the reasons I have stated earlier. They are not very comfortable. Now granted, I still have mine, and my family loves the little truck, but it is really only used when we need a truck, which is fairly often since my family has a fixer upper house. We, certainly, don't use it for transportation purposes. Would I purchase one again now that I am 51? This would be an interesting question since I love the body style of the first generation Tacomas, but at the same time, I don't really care for their comfort level.

    I bought my 95 at 43 (2 months ago).

But, I have a thing for older vehicles.

    Digital?
The 180,500 miles are on rollers!! It also has:
    Manual tranny
    Manual steering
    Manual windows
    Manual locks
    No tach nor clock

    Less electronic stuff to break!!

In my head, I’m still 22 & just out of college.

I just added KC fogs & am trying to figure out where the loose connection is in my horn button (horn moved to dash).

Just figured out last night that is what the big blank square was for, as I looked it up trying to see why there were wires behind it.

The lower right corner of that square is where I put the horn button.
Edit: I was going to wire the fog switch into it too, but those wires & harness were in the way.

That’s what phones are for nowadays!

    & Watches before that ...

Heck, my xB’s clock has been wrong for over 8 years, after I didn’t bother to fix it after some mod. I just left it on outside temp, as that was more useful anyways. (Edit: on the xB, the clock, temp, mpg, & more are on the same display, with a toggle button.)

The first generation Tacomas are somewhat similar to the first generation Camaros and Firebirds in that they have a huge following behind them.

That, that and that. I remember those gas lines well. For you kids who have been lucky enough to never experience this...count your blessings. The other part of that story is that the old mechanical gas pumps could only go up to $0.999/gallon. When gas first went above $1/gallon, they priced it by the HALF gallon. To make that work, you doubled the price shown to get what you would pay. A $5 sale on the pump was $10 at the cashier.

I learned to drive in a '72 F-250 pickup. Took that to the driving test and the tester just laughed at me. Till I parallel parked that SOB like a pro! He said he wanted to pass me just on that alone, but he was required to see me out on the road.

Bought my '98 brand new, first year ever for the TRD package. Only 185k miles on her now, so not even fully broken in yet. And I've got 5 years on TacomaJunkie...56 on my odometer...haha.
