Thanks for the info. Mine has about 290 miles on it. Only about 5 are mine. It got moved between dealers, and the dealer drove it 80 miles to deliver it to me, so I really haven’t driven it except for errands around town today. Would hate to have something like that develop on a brand new rig. My old one was 18 years old, and never had any squeaks.

I love my Toyota Taco. 80% of Toyota's sold in the past 20 years are still on the road today. I still Have my 1989 Toyota hilux it still has 90% all original parts and paint and still kicking.:)

    for me

    pros:
    looks good. cool ride
    decent price vs full size
    reliability
    quick for a v6 truck
    nice towing for a v6
lotts space inside and the long bed is great for cargo

    con:
    gas mileage sux
should went with dark interior over the tan cause i am a dirty mofo
shitty factory warranty (36k miles in 1.5 years)
shoulda go a v-8 for beefier towing and at the mpg it wouldnt have been far off.
no ipod jack on oem radio
speakers arent very loud with windows down on the higway
drains in the bed clog very easy
black scratches easy and this one is getting plenty ( my 4th black car in a row so nothign new)....still a con
its not a full size tundra or usa truck.

Loved my '98 Xtra cab. When it was totalled, I ordered a 2011 Access Cab. The AC looks the best of all the models, especially in Timberland Mica, but (No offense intended to AC owners) I really didn't like it. The old one seemed better.

I admit my head got a bit scrambled in that crash, so maybe I made too much out of the little things like the doors that wouldn't close unless you slammed them.

If you slammed a door like that on any of my previous vehicles, I'd warn you the first time to not do that again. But, that's what it took on that brand new, way too expensive, specially ordered, had to wait 2 months to get it, Toyota. It made me miss my old truck even more, so finally I traded it and even more money for a BR DCSB with the OR package the dealer had on the lot.

I'm on my first trip to Florida in it to visit family and the odometer just hit 2000 miles. I love this new truck! It rides better and is much quieter than my Odyssey and it gets better mileage than my supercharged 98 did with 32s.

I wish I could have gotten a timberland mica DC, but I have no regrets about getting the Barcelona Red. Not only does it look outstanding, I have no trouble spotting my truck in a mall parking lot. Plus, I didn't see another one on the trip down here.

Hey Toyota, don't let my opinion go to your heads. You mostly got it right with my new DC, but you should study TW. If you did half of what people here are asking for, no one would ever buy anything else. In the mean time, I'm keeping this one.

I like it much better now that I've made some mods to it.....when it was bone stock it seemed almost invisible, now it feels like a real truck. :)

I know most will disagree with this, but,I like the smaller 1st gen. tacoma better. got rid of a 95 reg cab and got a 09 reg cab. don't get me wrong the 09 is a nice truck, and i'm happy with it, but I seem to perfer the smaller truck. it seemed to fit me perfect, not too big,not too small. unfortunatelly it's hard to find very low milage 1st gens.,and if you would stumble onto one it would probably be at a super premium price. also like L.O.hubs,manual 4WD lever, and a steel bed, NA on the new ones. all said,if the 09 is as dependable as the other toyotas I've owned I'll be very pleased. that's the bottom line-quality,and dependability.

My biggest complaint is the MPG's. And that's why I commute M-F in a beater (old Focus). But I love the truck. No regrets at all.

I want a 4 cylinder, 4x4 truck so its the only truck that fits my needs. I love my Tacoma....how it runs, drives, tackles trails. Its so dependable. I cant nit pick it.

Love mine, but I only drive it on weekends. The gas mileage is a little disappointing, but it's a truck. My only real complaints are no factory bedlight and the frame rust worries me a lot. I've been painting it, but I feel like a compact truck that was 31k new shouldn't look the way some of them do after 3-4 years.

I'm very happy with it overall, just wish it was diesel and had a few more OD gears. It feels like mine is geared like a tractor, plenty on the low end, lots of shifting without much change of road speed, and it doesn't like to go above 60. I'd rather have that then excessively wide highway gears though cause damn, 4 low in first is really crawling.

Hmmm...lets see these are the issues that I've had since I bought it as a used vehicle with about 30k miles.I've got a 06 Pre-runner 4 door longbox

    1) overhead compass quit-fixed thanks to Toyotaworld thread thank you very much
    2) center console bin closure latch broke- going to to fix from another thread on Toyotaworld....
    3) clear coat is starting to crack in certain places and I ended up repainting my hood scoop due to it getting so bad.I can see it having to be repainted eventually, but its a truck so who cares then again thats a quality issue from the factory
    4) one of the front mudflaps snapped off when the temp got below freezing...not sure if thats a common thing but I just ripped them completely.
    5) Flipped down the drivers sun visor as I was driving into the sunrise and the rod that mounts inside the visor snapped off...the visor was just swinging there....I ended up taking it apart to see if i could fix it and found out the visor is just a piece of plastic clipped together that doesn't look it could handle much

I've always owned Toyota's since my first 1980 Corolla and have a 05 Sienna. But the quality of the Sienna is way better then my truck...in my case Its almost like they just forgot about quality with the Tacoma line and are just pumping them out like hotcakes to appease their numbers. These things should not be happening and I can say that I will not buy another tacoma

Mine 03 tacoma was a gift and although it is a great truck at least not having v6 in the DC is hard on the interstate, and 4x4 but lots dont have that, one day ill have the right version to play in the mud with.

I love my truck! But the one thing I would change is the ticking sound the motor makes. Its not crazy loud but just loud enough to bug me. :annoyed:

    oh and the price!
