Coming from a lowered civic rice burner, I needed something that suited my lifestyle better. ie shooting up forest service roads and camping and snowboarding quite abit not to mention in the rare occasion it snows here in the lowlands I was pretty much grounded in anything over three inches with my drop. The civic was fun but I needed a change and something more my age. Lol. I love the Tacoma, but my on gripe wound be the stock Dunlops on the TRD sport! I don't do any serious offloading, just driving on well maintained FS road and the tires are already starting to chunk out and wear more than I think they should with only 6000 miles...

Either way though ill be replacing the. To a more substantial tire and that should remedy that problem

mine love mine, but it's an 04 1stgen. I'm hearing weird issues with new ones. Vibrations and such. Not sure I'd buy a new one.

i love/d both my tacomas. had bought an '07 access cab aug. '09 had to sell it about 2 years later due to finances :( As long as i had it, i never had any issues, but then again it hadn't even been "broken in". it had 60, 70, 80k miles on it. oh well, decided to keep the 1st gen ('03 silver stepside) :)

newer vehicles have more electronics, computers, bells, whistles, etc on them for stuff to need being repaired or replaced.

One thing that chaps my ass is how I have to give it a little English when shutting the doors. If I don't exert some added force when shutting them, then they do that annoying "I'm shut, but not really..." thing that doors do once in a while. Anybody else run into this or am I a weak sumbish?

Had to sell my PreRunner Quadcab. It barely got 20 mpg driving it like a grandma. For that mpg I could drive a fullsize. I loved the way the Tacoma handled and looked.. solid and dependable but that full size truck MPG with a compact truck payload killed it for me.
