I've only had my 2012 for about 6 mos, but I hate the whistling noise I hear on the driver's side window that the dealer can't fix and I also don't like that it doesn't have a key ignition light or light for the truck bed.

I just got my 2006 a month ago with 223k miles on it. Flushed all fluids and changed filters. Runs like new drives better than any vehicle I've owned. And best of all I got it for $3600. I couldn't be happier ( at least until I get headers, exhaust, and custom long travel suspension lol. But that's just a dream right now)

The first toyota I owned I loved. The one I currently own is a piece of junk. Dealership won't fix. I'd rather drive my 30 year old truck with no ac

only have a few complaints, otherwise great vehicle
09 DC 4x4, TRD, few minor mods
-gas mileage on a windy day is terrible on the highway, I wasn't expecting great, but sometimes I'm only getting 14 on the highway(but that's with high wind and a softopper)
    -no light for the bed
    -4x4 switch not illuminated
    -no power seats
    -----------------------------
only 51k on the odo, so not getting rid of it anytime soon, but would probably buy another one, but with a manual trans

I've only had mine for 5500 km but I love it. The only way to make it better is if Toyota offered a diesel in this market.

this is my third post in this thread. nancy and i just purchase a travel trailer. i was doing major stressing about the taco's ability to pull this. i read the trailer towing bible sticky about three times. this is really useful information. i installed a teckonsha brake controller and the r.v. dealer put an anti-sway hitch on the trailer. this critter weighs in at 3800 lbs empty. i can say i am taking a while to get used to pulling a trailer. the taco? no problems!

i love my taco. it is not perfect but i would replace it with the same thing.

A little over 40K miles and I still like it. This is my second Toyota, so I know they last forever as long as you change the oil.

Finally blew the motor at 230,000, sprung for a Jasper with 100,000/3 year warranty. The birdpig has a new set of wings! OME heavy load lift kit, Dakar leafs w/AAL, frame mounted energy suspension 4.5" bumpstops, 882 coils, nitrocharger sport shocks, trail gear sliders, addicted offroad front bumper, KC 130w daylighters, Warn M8000, 31" BFG KM2's, custom dents and Nevada pinstripes.
Bought mine brand new in 98. It was a work truck towing a trailer for years. It was a stock camping/wheeling/dd for years. Now it does all of the above with a few mods. I love the size of the 1st gens. When this engine dies I'm going to put a new one in. 190,000+ miles, no major problems. The only thing I don't like is the drivers seat. It's so compressed that I can feel the metal frame. I'll get new seats someday. Can't imagine getting rid of my taco. Someday this one will probably get chopped and caged and built into a full on crawler, but not till I get a new one for a dd.

Every car before this one, was treated like a baby. This one I am using and enjoying every scratch and bump.

This will be my last vehicle, decided I wanted something that would take me where I want to go, see the sights in the back country and still look nice in the city.
So far only two things would I wish improvement.

    1. Entunes - pretty lame applications, support and upgrades
    2. Mileage - average between 15.5 - 17
Ride is great, off road is great, comfort is great, dealers have been great.

'10 TRD hit 60,000 KMs this week and still running strong. No issues to report other that the minor quirks everyone seem to be having such as dash rattle, windshield noise.. I would've enjoyed it much better with heated seats and heated mirrors over here in the Great White North..

    As stock as they come.
    Basically yes.

But there are somethings I dont like.

    1. Gas mileage. Getting about the same with a 4cyl as I did with my Rams 5.7.
    2. 4cyl. Once I had a chance to drive it around some, I realized I should have gotten a 6. Not the trucks fault.
    3. Totally unhappy with the payload performance. The sag is incredible.
    4. Shitty fog lights sold by the dealer for $400 that simply dont work.

Light bar, if I can find a nice low profile and suspension work coming my way.

Very happy with mine so far. By most measures, it is the best truck in its class!
