Although this is the first one I've owned, I've always liked these trucks (1st and 2nd gen). I wish I had bought one sooner. There are little items that bother me, but truthfully, I don't think Toyota has any decent competition in this market when it comes to look/stance. I only wish I would have gotten a TRD-Sport and a different color. If reliability turns out to be what I expect, I'll have to wait many years before I get the color I want...

This is the second taco I've owned. The first was a reg cab 95. It was put together a lot sturdier than the 2009 I'm currently driving. I have to admit that there are some things I do not like about my 2nd gen, but don't get me wrong, I still love my truck and wouldn't have purchased anything else!

I'm setting at 71k on my 08 DC and love it. The only two things I don't like about it are:

    1. Not 4x4. (100% my fault for not spending the extra $$ for it)
    2. No AUX Jack. (Will be taking care of that with the GROM mod)

The Tacmoa is quieter and rides a lot better than the 2010 Honda Accord couple EX-L V6 and can carry a motorcycle in the back....while towing a boat.... nuff said...

My 4wd evergreen metalic 1998 Limited Xtracab is hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned. I'd never sell it and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It was nice new, worth getting the Limited with the TRD off road and factory sunroof, but with the OME upgrade, ARE shell and carpet kit, TRD headers, supercharger, etc. etc....it gets better with every mod. It's been in most of the states and never been stuck...close a few times, but you gotta love that locker. Unfortunately, she was totalled last October. T-boned. The lady in the other car didn't beat the yellow. Just damn...I loved that truck.

My 08 is my 7th yote but I am affraid it is also my last! to many short falls and the MPG sucks for this much HP and weight. I will go back to full size unfortunately and the Tundra does not make the grade.

I've only had this truck 9 days and its been setting in the garage most of the time ,I have 210 miles on it ..It seems to be giving decent milage and its a smooth ,solid ride..my only complaint is the back seat is awfully small..

I like my taco... here's my + and - if something happened to this one, i would get the same thing to replace, so def a good truck.

    +rides/drives good
+seems to be built well compared to other trucks.
    +looks good
+the right size, not to big, but still does a lot

    -copper plugs every 30k
-could use the 4Runner engine with dual VVTI
-Seems strange the V8 F150 gets 21 mpg on the highway and i get 18 when driving easy.
    -breakable mud flaps

Overall a great truck, I had a new F150 for a rental and it had a few nice features, but it didn't drive as well or feel as well put together as the Tacoma.

Hopefully Toyota builds on what is right and fix the few small things!

I traded a 05 F150 4x4 Super crew in on this tacoma .My Ford only had 27,400 miles on it ,heated garage kept..reason for trading was the Ford only gave 10 to 12 mpg and that was babying it..The Toyota dealer gave me $19,900 for it..Tacoma is giving 18.33 mpg.and its not anywhere near broke in..The Ford was a good ,solid well built truck ,just wouldnt give any gas milage ..

Not a bad truck so far, but I sure wish it was the size of my Gen I that got frame rot. Too big! And I wish it was a hybrid and got 35 mpg.

^ wouldn't want a hybrid. I wouldn't know how to work on it!
