I hate that Toyota got rid of their best colors

 

Hum.... I don't see "boring" in Silver Metallic. I totally share your opinion in bold above. I was initially going with Inferno but figured I would get tired of it. Besides, my Silver Sky Metallic matched my other toy.

 

When I was ready to buy in 2019 I discovered Inferno had been discontinued - . I was going to "settle" for the beautiful Barcelona Red, however the only truck available in the configuration I wanted was over 200 miles away -- and the dealer wouldn't trade - .

Now double bummed I was randomly surfing an auto trader website and found the exact Inferno truck I wanted CPO with 12,000 miles almost in my back yard.

When inferno first came out it was a shocker to the community its was like wow inferno crazy color for Tacoma and yes us the ones with rar colors at first I didn't like inferno but when I found my 2017 Tacoma hidden at the dealership in the back in late 2018 my manger buddy said nobody cared for the color I was like why looks great and since then I transformed it with black and orange and black goes well with orange plus my truck is festive around Halloween lol

 

Boring as in silver cars are ubiquitous, you see them everywhere. I had a Silver Streak Mica 2nd gen Tacoma and loved it!

 

I may be a bit bias in this poll, but my Taco was the first car I was able to choose the color on. I love my Super White

 

In my opinion some colors look better on a OR or Pro having the black trim to offset it a little. Like quicksand. I think it looks terrible on a sport. I originally wanted quicksand but when I saw inferno on a OR I was sold. Now quicksand seems to become more and more the old man tan every time I see it. Glad I didn’t go that route. I seen a silver sky Sport one time in an inner section, not sure if it was just the perfect lighting or what but that thing just looked great at that particular moment. Also there was a BBP taco around here that looked really sharp. Best blue color in my opinion. I’ve Owned a few red vehicles and always have been drawn toward red. The Barcelona red on a Pro or OR looks great. Havent really seen AG in person but I’m sure that is a good color to have. Not sure why everyone here seems to love cement. It’s kind of boring. Just worked on a voodoo blue 4R and it’s too over the top. I hate how Toyota uses the same colors across most of their lines. I would rather have a couple vehicle specific colors.

 

I call cement “gloss primer” I don’t get the love either. I mean...it’s ok, but not my favorite. I’m not a fan of the current non-metallic trend.

Love my Cav Blue, just love the AG more. Every time I see one I fight off the urge to go trade my truck in for one.

 

5 years in owning Quicksand, still like it. Inferno is always good to see...if someone else is driving it, just a bit too bright for me.

Black sucks ass and totally rocks, depending on if you just spent six hours detailing or how it looks during normal day to day use if it rains or snows where you live.

But if I was buying today? Cement, no question

 

My favourite color changed as I researched the Tacoma on line. (I'd never seen a Tacoma in person as they are not available in Australia so it was all new to me.). I was partial to the non silver / white / black Tacoma colors...

The first 'special' Tacoma color I spotted online was QS (also reminded me of the old Defenders (Land Rover), then I saw the Cement - That was my favourite and I thought that would be it - until I saw the Cav Blue. - A very nice color - and quite rare.

A bit later I saw the AGreen - and a couple months later, the Lunar Rock was announced. I was intrigued and was sold as I went to drool at LandCruisers at my local dealer in Australia and saw a Rav4 in LR in the flesh... Once I saw it in person, I thoought the AGReen was a bit too dark - I wanted the Drab green fron the old Defenders.

THe inferno looks good, I just do not think I'd buy it...

I do not mind the MGM on a Taco. There are just too many MGM tacos and dirt shows immediately. I would never buy Black, or White - just my preference.

I would not mind it if the LR does not 'sell' well... Some love it - but I do not think it will become the most desired color. (I believe it is the best by far!).
I would not mind if it follows the Cav Blue and becomes rare. Cav Blue is a great color for the Tacoma. I do not know why it did not go over well.

 

In the end, the great thing is that there are plenty of great colors to choose from to keep things from getting too boring. My preference when I was choosing my truck last Fall was...
