    1st gen trucks have 1" 2" and 3" options...look for 4crawler or Roger Brown...

for fit issues or to get a small bit of extra clearance...a 1" BL would be fine...but i personally wouldnt do anything more than that

i have a 09 Tacoma buts its a 5 lug and i put a readylift on it witch is only 2.75 i want more so would a body lift be a good idea for me, i will likely never do serious off roading in it anyways

Body lifts = I never plan to go off road so I don't need REAL ground clearance. And I have a small penis

Suspension lifts = I know what I'm doing and now I have more ground clearance to do some real offroading :)

Body lifts = I don't have $1700-$2000 laying around to spend on a full blown suspension lift, but I want some more tire clearance.

Suspension lifts = I've got the money and I wanna do some serious off-roading (or just look like I can).

Body lifts are fine if you don't go too extreme with them. They will also give you more REAL ground clearance b/c you can put bigger tires on your truck which will raise the entire vehicle off the ground. ATT: I'm not condoning 6" body lifts and no suspension, but if you've got a mild suspension lift and just want a little extra clearance then I think they're ok. 1-2 inches is appropriate. Believe me, I've seen plenty of people w/ huge, expensive suspension lifts whose trucks have never seen a dirt road. Who's the real poser?
Check out this site, you can custom build the body lift you need:http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/ToyotaTacoma.shtml#NOTES

whatever you say guys. I have a 3" body lift AND a 3" fabtech adjustable coil over lift with 2" add-a-leafs in the rear. I wheel my truck hard in the mud and hauling ass down firelanes and hunting roads in hunting season chasing deer and dogs and I've had no problem with my bodylift. True, they might not be as superior or advanced as a suspension lift, but you have to be rock crawling and stuff just as tough in order to bring havoc on your body lift in my opinion. Also, a body lift doesn't change your geometric angles at all on your ifs like a suspension lift does, so that is ONE plus of a body lift. You can say what you want but I wheel my truck very HARD through ruts, mud, ditches, fields, etc., and I haven't had one problem with my body lift. Just my input though, do what you want.

I have ran 3" susp. + 3" body lift for years no problems.. install it correctly and re-tighten it after first couple drives and they are fine.. clears 35's and looks great if you put the gap gaurds on

I love my 3" body lift on top of my 6" fabtech suspension lift. I can clear 37x1250x20 without rubbing at all! I Even have an ARB front winch bumper that i had modified to fit my body lift which the original bumper will not do!

I never run gap guards because i can clean all the mud out so well with them off. But im thinking i might put them back on. I wish they were quick disconnects for cleaning ease.

@350TacoZilla Love your avatar reminds me of my old 1991 dlx toyota\chevy rock crawler. I had a small block chevy 350 v8 in it with a torbo350 chevy trans\tranfer case and 3/4 ton axles 4:88's locked 100% rear end with an Aussie locker in the front. Loved that truck you could roast all 4 tires at 50mph anytime you wanted. It passed safety and emissions perfectly. One of my customers wife had pestered me into selling it so much i sold it for $3800.00:facepalm::frusty:

Not on a Tacoma but I have thought about a 1" BL. I run a 1" BL on my TJ because it allowed me to do a tummy tuck as well as lift fuel tank higher. I then ran a 2.5 lift to keep suspension geometry changes to a minimum and run a slightly larger tire. This set up has taken me on many trails and runs with no issues. IMAG1120.jpg
