The Tundra has blind spot monitoring , but not the Tacoma, at least as far as I know! I could be wrong, but that would be next to impossible.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
If I was rich I probably wouldn't be driving a Tacoma, just sayin'.. Maybe your sales taxes are different there but here it isn't that bad. The biggest hit you take is on licensing, registration and title which costs about a grand total on a new rig here.

I'm in the same situation. I need something bigger and more features. Are they remaking the Tundra as well, or maybe keep it the same?

In reality, I care almost nothing about "ugliness". I want reliability, in which Toyota seems to excel! I've been single for many years, and have found that the more unattractive women have been the best. The most attractive are high maintenance, troublesome, etc, etc!!

Well if you're worried about reliability, keep your order for your 2015, toyota had a decade to work out all the quirks of the second gen. So keep the 2015... the 2016 is bound to have some little nitches even though its a Toyota the possibility always exists, for any vehicle, brand, etc.

Good points, but I feel the 2016 Tacoma will be acceptable, with many improvements. No doubt, you're right, a few "quirks".

I never like to buy the first year of a redesign. The bugs have all been worked out in the 2015,I'd go with that, just my opinion.

one would think that toyota would have worked out the quirks but if you do the research you may find that many of the issues that were around in 2005, 2006 and so on are still around on the 2014. vibration issues, leaf springs snapping and sagging, manual trans problems on the 5 and 6 speeds, radios that are problematic, frame rust/rot safety issues and so on. might as well wait for the 2016 if you can! i figure same platform with updated looks, updated engines that offer competitive fuel economy and more gadgets that are found on the tundra as options.

Exactly... So why not just get a 16? There will no doubt be some "niches" but no different than the ones we deal with now... Leaf springs, vibes... Etc

I love the look of my 13' and unless they come out with some new powertrain options Im 100% happy with my truck. Even then, I don't mind the power of this truck. Wish I got better MPG's but I have a lift and big tires so...

2015 2nd Gen resale value will tank after the 2016 comes out. Unless you got a super deal, I would NOT go for the 2015.

What a half baked statement. Has any Tacoma tanked? 20 years of rusted out frames and thousands of trucks headed to the scrapyard and you think anything design related will tank the previous? LOL

Well, yesterday, I officially cancelled my order for the 2015 and told the salesman to apply my deposit toward the 2016 Tacoma. I expect the price will change somewhat.

At least wait and see what they announce in January. If it is not a huge redesign, then buy a 2015.

Good point, and I did tell the salesman that if after seeing the 2016 in Detroit, and no big change, I may still get a 2015. However, I doubt that my ordered Tacoma will still be available, but possibly.
