you will use your nerf bars everyday, roof rack not so much. and you have a truck, whatever you were thinking on putting on the roof rack will fit much better in the bed and its' easier to get to.

I just put on my N-Fab bars and have already gotten many compliments. I have a friend that has almost the same truck as me but he has the roof rack. I'm just not into it. But that's only my opinion.

Relentless Fabrications is where I plan to get my sliders whenever I sell my NFABs. Great guy, great products, and it's always good to support an upcoming, independent business.

What's up man, good to see a local on here. I'm actually right across the bay from you.

So I have some basic step bars that I got really cheap from the truck shop over here in Daphne. However I would of preferred some sliders that offered an actaul step as well. The misses is 5'2" so steps are manditory. But I still am going to get a roof rack because I do kayak a great deal and even with my mild lift its easy to put up there.

So unless you plan on using the rack all the time, I would get sliders that offer a decent step.

    My 2 cents though

Or you could buy my steps and I could get sliders... haha

    100% agree with cc350!
#1 Why do you need to haul things on ur roof when you have a truck bed?
#2 The Nunber 1 Reason for nerf bars is to stop the door dings when people park next to you and hit your truck with the edge of their door, instead their door will hit the nerf bars, the same reason I always keep my extra long trailer hitch hooked up on back.

Practability, or substance over looks is my rule

( this may sound crazy, but when I park at a tight parking lot, I always write down the plate numbers of the cars parked next to me so when I come back out and find the side of my door damaged I call the police and charge them with hit and run and I supply the police with their license plate number)

#1 How about when the truck bed is full? Say your going camping and have all your camping gear in the back, I put my canoe on the roof. Also I hate having my canoe sticking out 6 feet or more past the bed when it is put in the bed.

#2 I always thought the number 1 reason for nerf bars were to be used as steps helping people get in and out of the truck....
Sliders look better, can be used as a step, offer better protection and are a hell of a lot stronger

When the truck bed is full? Then you're taking too much camping gear, the bed is big, and stuff can be stacked high in the bed and tied down, and any boat should be on a trailer for saftey reasons, I don't want to be following behind you on the road with a boat tied down to either your truck bed or on your roof, the boat can fall off and crash into the car behind you, if I would see you hauling any type of boat that way I would call the Highway Patrol, State Police and request you be pulled over and cited for unsafe driving.

#2 The Toyota Tacoma stock is close enough to the ground you shouldn't need step bars to get in the door, on full size 4x4, jacked up trucks then they are needed, and it makes a man look like a girly man when he uses his step bars as a step, I use step bars and my trailer hitch as a protection.
