Once I finish all the currently pending mods I will update this section.
HAHA, Functionality does not mean the same as "too much going on." After market stereos, IMO, are definitely better when it comes to customizing sound. You can almost get anytype of sound you want out of an aftermarket deck. Single or Double din. DDs, however, look a lot cleaner.;)

i want one but am very particular on it matching. its rediculous that the ipod cables are in the upper $100's. might as well buy one. the only thing holding me back is i want to retain my steering wheel controls and have that clean look.

Nice, this settles it. I'm getting the Kenwood media receiver. Good looks, not too flashy, excellent power output, good sound from what I can tell, rear USB input (the one I'm looking at)...all good.

It's all about function to me. If I could control my Ipod through the factory HU, and it had decent output for the speakers, and had pre-outs for a sub, I wouldn't change. Since the factory HU and speakers absolutely suck, I'm forced to replace them.

A lot of people hate this Metra dash kit, but it's been just fine for me. Never rattles or moves. The Ipod, the Bluetooth for my phone, and steering wheel controls, it works perfect. Old deck was a multi- disc factory and it sucked!

I think they look horrible. I was looking for and and couldn't find a single din that didn't look cheape or a double din that didn't look cheap or was stupid expensive so I just got an isimple factory iPod adapter. Works great and the look is still factory.
