I do have a good floor jack. Can you elaborate on how to do it? Or point to a you tube vid?

Looks like the OP needs to add another choice. My write in selection is gaining traction.

This is very true. I didnt know of this method untill 3 days after installing my lift when I helped another member install his new coils. Whenever I upgrade/replace my current setup I will use the LCA to compress and assemble it myself.

You attach the front assembly to the LCA and jack it up into the top hat. tighten top bolt, lower floor jack and your done.

EDIT: Difference is you'll notice they removed their sway bar so there are no sway bar end links to disconnect. No big deal thats only a few more bolts for you. Also I know some say you don't have to remove the sway bar completely but we did just to get it out of the way. If you have a cordless impact wrench, it goes A LOT faster too. I bought one on sale at Sears for $89 and it worked like a champ. Also picked up a deep metric impact socket set at Harbor Freight for I think less than $20. Makes taking off tires/wheels and some of those bolts a breeeeeeeze. Also get a set of some metric ratcheting end wrenches...HUGE help. Bought those at HF too.

So you may be in it a couple hundred bucks if you buy those tools, a torque wrench etc but then you'll have the knowledge you did it right, you'll learn a ton AND you'll know how to work on it again in the future if you want to change something out.

Looks easy enough. Thanks guys. Looks like the lift and tires are going to win this battle. I'd have to drive to Nevada for a legal/safe hooker and then I'd be too tired to do anything.

One of the OP's choices was to gamble, after all. Just saying.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
For no more than moderate trails, tires. But ones that fit the truck as is.

When you discover shortcomings in how you actually use the truck, then consider how to remedy those.
