    k one more question lol
If im keeping it on a somewhat budget more now(might be buying a charger:D)
Is it better of buying the full ome or billies with an AAL?
And with the billies do I still need UCAs?

Ahh this is a good thread going...

Im figuring out what lift I want, it has been consuming my life. I thought I had it narrowed between toytec and ome. Im thinking toytec is just expensive billies (like one member mentioned) Im amost set on ome, yet maybe icon or camburg.

What do you guys think of ome coil/shocks up front, and rears?? Ome rears or 5100s?? I will be doing the ome leaf pack, if that makes a difference on 07 dc lb 4x.

I didnt want to have to spend the money for uca, but I think, its probably the best way. I was considering just ball uca by camburg or LR. (not sure which ball uca is better) I was browsing post when I saw a uniball uca by "built right". (more research, will this ever end?!?!)

Yeah, so now that I figure the best thing would be to do the uca at the same time, Im now thinking I should get icon coilovers or camburg coilovers and be really gald I did... (did I mention this little suspension lift is taking over my life?)

I dont wheel much, the guys over at ttora said ome or toytec will be over kill for what Im doing, and I agreed... They said I wouldnt need uca. (its just I spent close to 1K on 265/70/17toyo's a yr ago, and I want to get full usage) That made me lean towards ome with no spacers.. like at 2.5", its probably still wise to get ball uca.

    :frusty: :goingcrazy: :boom: <--------------ME!!

Well I really appreciate everyones help.
Placed my order for the toytec ultimate lift last night.
No UCAs, praying Ill have a good enough alightnment or ill pick them up later. I figure its probably more than I need in a lift but I would rather go over the top and have something eveyone said so many good things about than getting something of lower quality. Ill be sure to post pics when its done. O its going on some 33x12.5 on stock 15s for now. anyone know how this will look or an idea of pictures?

I wish I had done my research before I bought my first lift. I got the toytec c/o's because I was impatient, and wanted something then and there without researching. I replaced them about 4 months after I purchased with my ICON's which I'm a million times happier with.

Tbird, I am also looking for websites that have the best prices... I came across East side customs that have a holiday sale on Icons $977. I do not know the best place to buy for price or customer service. I wish I did. (Im still not sure what lift I should go with) You could Call Icon Vehicle Dynamics and speak to someone. One thing I like about camburg is you can call them (the makers) and let them know how you will be using your suspension and they will valve them accordingly... Im not sure if Icons valving is standard for the tacomas make/model or if you can talk to someone and customize it, or if you buy Icon off a website if they will customize your valving. (im really new at suspension and its components)

With the toytec ulitmate kit, you get new ubolts and shims. Why doesnt the ome kit or Icon/Radflo/Camburg come with shims/bolts? Is this something that typically is needed when doing a 2.5"-3" lift?

What do you guys think is a better rear set up. 5100s or ome n182? (with the complete ome CS047R spring pack)

    (confusing shit)

While Icon does make the best shock, for a DD and light wheeling the Toytec is more than enough. They are height adjustable and direct replacement no spring compressor needed. Plus Toytec will replace the billies for the life of your shocks. $1150 for eveything front and rear is a good deal! It all depends on how you use your truck. You can always add some balljoint UCA later as Camburg told me the only difference is the strength. The extra travel is still there. Loose your sway bar and it's a pretty sweet ride!

I got ext. travel ICONs back when Wheelers Offroad was selling them for $990 shipped. That was awhile ago and don't know which shop is the cheapest now. I would give Sonny at Downsouth Motorsports a call, they seem to usually have the best deals on suspension components.

ICON can valve the coilovers to your needs. I didn't need shims with my lift. Some do, some don't, its a case by case type of thing. With 2.5-3" of lift you will need longer u-bolts. They are fairly inexpensive, I suggest getting the u-bolt flip from All-Pro if you plan on doing any wheeling. I would rather go with the ome n182's in the rear with the leaf pack, but I haven't had any problems with my 5100s. I will be upgrading to something like fox or king resi's in the rear once I have the money.

Are the shims that come with toytec's ulti kit the same as ome's trim kit?

Does anyone know if Camburg's ball uca corrects alignment? I thought I just read some where on this site that they didnt correct alignment. I know LR ball uca do, they have a few settings for that reason.

Which one of you toyota fans know the stock spring rate of tacomas vs the spring rate of aftermarket coils?

    Billies;
112-620 Eibach/Toytec (silver) front coil springs 620lb spring rate

    Radflo;
650LB coils on the 2.0" shock body standard
600lb coils on the 2.5" shock body standard

    I think camburgs 2.5" are 650 or 640

not sure ome or toytec or icon? I have trd springs, and I think they are 5 something?

**sublime good point about the lifetime warranty

**1337 thanks about the rear set up, I appreciate that. 1337, I know Icon could valve them, but what if you order them through a different vender, i.e. downsouth, toytec, offroadwarehouse, ect...

Ok fella's, I'm gonna ask about what I am thinking of doing.
1st, my truck does not go off road at all, but I do haul and tow stuff. I'm really just after a better look than stock. I plan on keeping my stock 265's on stock wheels. (maybe change the wheels later, but not bigger tires)
Can I just do OME 885 coils up front with the stock Bilstien TRD shocks? (I know I will loose some down travel). No Tsb done, just gonna do the 3 leaf aal.
OR, while I have it torn apart, should I do more? (on a budget too)

your better off getting the bilstein 5100s and using the stock coil, than using the stock shock and the ome coil. that will give you some adjustability to level out the truck with stock rear, tsb aal rear, or the 3 leaf that your talking about.

Sublime- thanks for the info on the lifetime thing. I had no idea about that and that makes me feel way better about this lift.
Any idea where I can get like the info on it?

As for the Icon lovers, sorry for a college student like me $400 more for something that i would sadly never get to put to its full potential didnt make sense. That and I felt better paying more for the ultimate over OME just because of how much everyone said it was great, little peace of mind.

Toytec's a vendor on here, just shoot em a msg and they'll confirm it.

As for the Camburg balljoint UCA's, they do correct alignment the same as the others. I found mine lightly used from a fellow member for $300 and the dude made custom dust caps for em. Just keep your eyes open!
