I know the answer before asking BUT...is it CARB approved for Kommiefornia residents?

 

Nice! Glad to hear it wasn't the tune and luckily you were somewhere you could get it towed and fixed. Hoping to get my flash files soon.. Been waiting since saturday

 

I had the 2016. Then I changed for the 2018 (Later on with a couple of beers I' ll tell my stories with the 2016 Model) and both were stock and have that "issue".

So far the 2018 is way much better than the 2016 i got, that was a real lemon (Mine got all the recalls...all *sigh*).

Anyway, after reading 11 pages of this thread I'm considering to do this MOD as well.

Tune helped my truck, but not enough to justify keeping it--cost too much to be unhappy with. It still shifted all the god damn time. As a side note, my MPG went down by about 2.4mpg. So those claiming that it will get better, don't believe that.

 

MPG got worse by 2? Dang that's not what I need...

 

That user was a tad salty, note that he got banned. My MPG increased by 2, and many users note similar results.

I got banned because I asked someone if their feels got hurt.
I can confirm that with 3 tanks of gas, I went from a solid 22.7 to 20.6.
The area I live is very hilly and I attribute the reduced fuel mileage to being in lower gears longer(which made it nicer to driver, but not enough to keep the truck).

 

My around town MPG's are about 1mpg better, My interstate driving mpg's went up by 4-5mpg's when driving at 80-85.

 

What are you getting on the highway?

 

At 70-75mph around 21-23mpg, at 80-85mph around 20mpg.

 

I was getting 25 at 65, installed the tune and got 22 on my last couple of trips at 65.

 

Texas interstates let you go much faster than 65, so I didn't get much experience with that speed.

 

How much did it cost you to replace the wiring harness?

 

I get 14-17 mpg the way the tune makes me want to drive.. i do have a 3 inch lift and dirty trees to be fair.. but after the tune you will want to "drive" your taco

I love it

 

more than one month driving with OVTune and definitely worth the investment. More throttle response, less hesitation & can feel subtle low & mid range torque gains. If you are looking for some added driving performance out of this engine, i recommend looking into the OVT

so far I'm in for 3 tunes.
1. '16 offroad (totaled)
2. sister's '17 offroad
3. my '19 offroad
and I insisted the insurance company reimburse my ovtune dollar for dollar!

 

Did they?

 

2018 Taco off road, auto,Tune 1.04 87...I feel the OVTune is a great investment for the driveable of this truck.Yes it's not cheap but it's well worth the price compaired to my F250 4x4 parts and mods.
