Anyone had this tune a year or close to it. Still liking it? Any regrets or buyers remorse?

    Thx

I've had it since August of last year - through ever version since the 1.01b release. Couldn't drive the truck stock - I tried last week. It's like driving a completely different (heavy, slow, unresponsive, lugging) truck by comparison. Stock tune feels like the poorly done aftermarket tune, OVtune feels like it should have come - smooth and easy

Just little tweaks that people have suggested over the last few pages, nothing major.

    BEWARE OF FUEL

I have the 103 91 tune. Truck was running great, but had to get fuel at a new location. It was a legit looking Valero, but after fueling I lost some performance and lost a little over 1 MPG. After refuel at my normal fuel location I’m back to 16.5 MPG and truck is running well again. Of course I’m pretty sure they had regular in their premium. Good luck!

If you put regular in your tank instead of premium you would have gotten a horrendous knock in the engine and that would basically have killed your engine of you kept running it

I can’t say for sure that it was regular and not premium. I do know I was wondering why my truck was not running as well and the lost mileage when suddenly after refueling my truck came back to life. Has anyone else ran regular fuel on the premium tune for some reason and has any feedback? Maybe I had enough good fuel left to blend? I usually fill with 93 octane and I refueled at 1/4 of a tank with the suspect fuel. I’m just happy I’m running well again.

Do you get 16.5mpg average because of constant traffic commuting? Curious how you get this mid MPG #

Mat at OVTune said running 87Oct on the 93 tune is NO NO. I have ran 92Oct on the 87 tune and it is sweet.

Ok... I have about 400 miles on the tune. It is great and I love it. 1.03 is night and day better than stock and it’s way better than 1.02c. With that being said, I live just outside of Atlanta near Athens (near the base of the Appellation Mountains, where it’s not mountainous but “hilly”). My truck is a 2016 and has a 3 inch lift with 33s. I love the way it drives when I’m near my house, but the problem is when I go to North Georgia. I just got home from an overnight trip to my cabin and the ONLY problem I noticed wasbetween 4th and 5th gear. I know the truck has 33s but it was driving me nuts it the mtns. The problemwas I would be traveling between 55 and 60mph on back roads in D andit would constantly switch from 5 to4 when going up a hill. No biggie. The problem was it would drop from60 to 55 mph and switch to 4th which is ok. Then it would climb to 60ish and shift right back to 5th.With the larger tires (my fault) it would then slow back down to 55 and drop back to 4th and repeatuntil I got to the top of the hill. Depending on the size of the hill this sequence would happen approx 4 to 5 times. The only way it would stop was to put the truck in S4 and let it stay in a higher rpm band to keep it from switching gears. Again I love this tune but if there was one thing I would change would be 4th and 5th gears. It just seems 5th gear fallsflat on its face when sees any incline or hill. Trust me @OVTune has done a remarkable job on these trucks. I just wish there was a way to extend the pull in 4th gear under loadbefore it switched to 5th to avoid the gearing dance while going up hills. I know I could either speed up or slow down to try and avoid thegear dance but the speed limit was 55 and wanted to optimized my mpg somewhat by not doing 75 mph in the mtns.

Sorry if no one follows what I'm saying but I tried to explain it the best way I could.

    I’m running the 91 tune.

Sorry, I know this has been discussed at length, but that OG thread is like 700+ pages so I'll ask the biggest two questions in my mind: Is this a true tune, or a piggy back system? Price?

    2 questions i have.

    1) How would this OV tune affect my Warranty. I have a 200,000 km extended platinum warranty and dont want anything that could void it.

    2) if it doesnt affect warranty does this tuner require Premium fuel in the truck? Right now gas prices in Ontario and going mental and Premium is running at $1.50+ a liter

It’s been said that Toyota cannot tell if the ECU has been tuned or not.

There are 87 and 91 octane tunes available.
