Guys, forums are a great resource to point out and try to resolve issues, so it always has a perception that Tacoma’s are full of problems, I don’t believe that to be true because this forum represent a very small percentage of Tacoma’s on the road, but some new comers have posted in the past that they’re worried about purchasing one because of what they’ve read on here...not realizing forums are for enthusiast, hobbyist and the OCD and does not represent the thousands of problem free Tacoma’s on the road and of those owners NOT on forums. Would love to see the reception and perceptions in general as there is likely a lot of silent bystanders that don’t post because they don’t have problems...just want to see where the weight is at since rarely does anyone post that they love thier Tacoma, no problems so far! Let’s hear it, love it, or regret it?

Sometimes I regret joining TW (tremendous time suck), but no regrets with the 3rd gen Tacoma.

    None.

    Really.

Same here. Love my Taco but TW made me spend too much on things I never knew existed. :spending:

Wow! Fantastic idea, I can't believe no one has though of this before.

Jokes aside, it's been a great truck. No regrets. Agree with other though, I enjoy it more the less time I spend on TW.

What's the definition of a problem? Things TSBs have resolved? Or things an extended test drive would have prevented? To broad of a question imo

The truck is fantastic. No regrets! Like the others, just too much time on TW and too much money on mods - most of which I have found or heard of through TW.

When I first started shopping for a truck, it was the same sort of stories from publications like consumer reports, etc, that nearly scared me away. That (and higher Tacoma prices) steered me towards the Frontier. Drove both trucks, and listened to my gut. The frontier would probably have been just fine, but so...MEH. The taco was love at first drive! Love my truck!

Nothing but problems. Fucking regret it!

I am non stop tinkering on this fucking truck.
Also, this website just keeps giving me more ideas on what to do next.

Love the truck. Bought a 2018 TRD sport after contemplating between the Canyon Denali. I'm glad I made the right choice. Only thing I need to take care of is the random Entune freeze. Other than that , beautiful truck.
The wife likes riding in the TRD than the 911turbo. Huh.

Love it, the whole ac drain tube thing had me a bit upset at first, but no real issues.

    Zero problems so far.
Only one minor regret - wish I'd gone for the access cab/long bed, but even that is a far-into-the-future concern.

On Tacoma World I have mixed feelings - some good information here, but you really have to be patient and wade-through the mean-girls BS.

Mostly problems, so I sold it.

    :bananadead:

I regret wasting my time with it for so long. I should have unloaded it after the third trip to the dealer.

I think they look great. I don't think this gen lives up to the Tacoma brand/reputation. Toyota may figure it out over the next few years. I think we ended up being beta testers. The engine transmission combo and diff issues is ridiculous.

OV tune proved about 3 months of tuning would make this engine and tranny better. Why Toyota, with it's thousands of engineers, couldn't figure that out proves either: they don't care, they aren't as smart as we think, or they aren't willing to put in much effort into this brand. To that last point, why would they with all the fanboys that would sing the praises of this truck even if it caught on fire when you locked the diff.

I'm glad to see so many people haven't had issues though. I just don't trust Toyota anymore. I also also a bit skeptical of the poll results because everyone has different ideas of "no issies". Half of those people have to hear the diff howl right? I guess they don't consider that an issue. o_O

I think you need another category or two for minor problems love / regret.

I've had a few minor things that I fixed at home. Zero regrets.

6 weeks into my new 18, 2 of those weeks have been in the shop and they still have it now. Current theory from them is that the port tapped into the wrong wire when installing my puddle lights and that is throwing my CEL for the evap sensor.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Regrets? Not really but it's a shaky start for sure. I was missing the power in my 07 but the ovtune helped with that. If I can get all this clear, I'm definitely getting the extended warranty.
